The World’s Most Expensive Cosmetics

Happy Friday lovelies! With a few hours left, the weekend is almost here and just for fun, The Makeup Examiner researched to find the world’s most expensive beauty products. There are some items that we all feel we can’t live without and beauty products usually top the list. Personally, I will forgo many things in order to have my favorite perfume. So if you’ve ever winced at the price of makeup, this list may make you feel better!

H. Couture Beauty Mascara - Price: $14 million USD - In 2006, 24-year-old entrepreneur Taysha Smith Valez started H. Couture Beauty and released this expensive mascara as part of their H. Couture Beauty Socialite Collection. It wasn’t the mascara itself that put this product in the most expensive category. The tube was adorned with 1,000 Swarovski crystals, which were all placed on each individual tube by hand. Of course that particular product was only $589 USD. The $14 million USD mascara was designed for a costumer who wanted something even more decadent. That customer’s mascara tube was encrusted with 2,500 blue diamonds. Shocking that the company is no longer in business!

Gold Rush Nail Polish - Price: $130,740 USD - Gold Rush nail polish, which is actually made of gold, is part of the Models Own nail lacquer line. Oddly, most of Models Own polishes cost approximately $8.00 USD. So what makes the Gold Rush Nail Polish uber expensive? The cap of the bottle is adorned with nearly 1,118 diamonds!

Diamond-Studded Lipstick - Price: $62,000 USD - The lipstick itself is made by Guerlain and Guerlain’s lipsticks are approximately $48.00 USD per tube. This particular lipstick is housed in 110 gram, 18-karat gold tube coated with 199 free diamonds weighing 2.2 carats, rubies and emeralds. If you’re interested in this lovely item, you will get a personal appointment with Olivier Echaudemaison, Guerlain’s artistic director, and receive a custom made lipstick shade that comes with its very own lip brush.

I Do Nail Polish - Price: $55,000 USD - Created in collaboration between Allure magazine, Essie Cosmetics, Platinum Guild International (PGI) and British platinum supplier Johnson Matthey, I Do is made with powdered platinum. The first batch of this nail polish was displayed in a special bottle created by PGI and designer Henry Dunay and made of pure platinum. But is you’re super bummed about the $50,000 price tag, no worries. You can pickup a normal bottle of the platinum polish for a mere $250 USD.

Gold and Diamond eyelashes - Price: $1,350 USD - Designed by Kre-At Beauty, whose lashes are an affordable $16.00 USD, these babies are created in 18 karat gold and diamond so that ladies can truly dazzle. If you’re interested in a pair of these lashes, available exclusively at Barney's and are on back order.
