Number 4 Hair Care Product Review

Hello lovelies! It’s TGIF again … yay! Despite a crazy winter storm earlier this week, spring is on its way and it is time for us to begin to switch over from winter weather beauty care to a routine for the breezy days ahead. So before The Makeup Examiner dips out for the weekend, I thought that I’d bring you a quick review of Number 4 Hair Care products. Are you ready for a product line to kick-off Spring 2013? Okay then, let’s get to the good, the bad and the beautiful of Number 4.

The Makeup Examiner receives a lot of products and since I (or my guinea pig housemates) test each and every single product prior to writing about it for you lovely readers, I need to be able to quickly distinguish what’s what and how to use it. Herein lies a plus and minus with Number 4. I received Number 4’s L'eau de Mare Hydrating Shampoo, Reconstructing Masque, Blow Dry Lotion, Super Comb Prep & Protect and Jour d’automne Styling Foam. Plus -- eco-friendly minimal packaging! Minus -- So minimal, I had to hunt to distinguish one product from another.

But seriously that is the only “bad” issue that The Makeup Examiner had with Number 4 products. All of the products are 100% Vegan, Gluten Free, Paraben Free, Sulfate/Sodium Chloride Free and never tested on animals! On top of that, they smell like heaven. Check out the Number 4 styling tip video with Celebrity Stylist Sean James!

L'eau de Mare Hydrating Shampoo (8.5oz $34) lathers really well and a little goes a long way, which is fabulous for someone like me who has long hair. Hydrating Shampoo fragrance notes are Ylang orchid, jasmine, vetiver and patchouli. The scent is so delicious and relaxing, plus the shampoo cleansed my hair and left it feeling nourished. The last, but far from least thing to say about the shampoo is the sleek and brilliantly constructed bottle. It’s rectangular which makes for super convenience in the shower. I was sent the Reconstructing Masque (5.1oz $58) versus the L'eau de Mare Hydrating Condition and based upon the phenomenal results that my hair received from the Masque; I can comfortably say that L'eau de Mare Hydrating Condition most likely works incredibly well.

Number 4 Blow Dry Lotion (5.1oz $32) has fragrance notes of Tonka beans, amber patchouli and Spanish moss and Super Comb Prep & Protect fragrance notes are a blend of white freesia, golden amber and warm musk. To begin styling my hair I used Number 4 Blow Dry Lotion throughout and sprayed Super Comb Prep & Protect (6.7oz $32) on the ends. I was straightening my curly hair and choose to go this route. As I’ve written before, it takes a bit of work to get my hair from curly to straight so you can imagine my complete love for these products when I didn’t need to reach for other stylers to achieve a smooth, sleek, healthy style!

When I went au natural with my hair, I used Jour d’automne Styling Foam (6.7oz $30) throughout to achieve healthy, bouncy curls. Again, I was happily surprised not to have to reach for more products! From the products scents to their performance, Number 4 High Performance Hair Care is an amazing experience and to kick-off your spring beauty routine, Number 4 is giving away a free Texture Styling Crème with the purchase of a Hydrating Shampoo, plus every order will include samples. Products are available at Number 4 Hair Care and select salon locations.
