Beauty Alert! The Best Eye Looks from New York and London Fashion Week

The whirlwind of New York and London Fashion Weeks are officially behind us, which means MAJOR trends are being spotted in beauty. With a little help from the Founder and Creative Director of Eyeko, Nina Leykind, we have fashion's top trending eye looks and tips for bringing them from runway to reality.

1. BOLD LINER LOVE

London Fashion Week focused on eyes with interesting takes on the typical cat eye. Makeup artist Adam de Cruz was inspired by designer Eudon Choi's circular prints and created a matching cat eye look adorned with black, navy and gray polka dots.

Another twist on the cat eye, seen at Suno and Badgley Mischka at NYFW, was Block Liner. The effect has the same upward flick, but instead of a perfectly precise wing, liner is blocked off at the edges to create a rectangular shape. Use a smudgy gel liner like Eyeko Making Eyes Automatic Gel Eyeliner in Pitch Black to draw a thick line from the inner to the outer corner, bringing it to a square point at the edge.

2. BROW GAME STRONG

The trend for “boy brows” was huge during both Fashion Weeks with thick, naturally brushed up brows in shows like Christopher Kane and Orla Kiely in London, and Michael Kors, Donna Karan and 3.1 Phillip Lim in New York. According to Leykind, the key to perfection here is ensuring that any shading or filling is done with subtle feathering. Allow texture to show through by using a shaping and defining gel, like Eyeko Brow Gel for a strong finishing touch.

3. SMOKY EYES

The "I just went for a walk in the woods" mood inspired designers and makeup artists alike this season. At London shows like TopShop and Jonathan Saunders, smudgy taupe or chocolate eyes (try NEW Eyeko Me and My Shadow shades in Topaz, Quartz and Bronze) were teamed with minimal mascara and dewy skin to create the look of health, reminiscent of a "no-makeup makeup look."
