August 2015 ScentBird Perfume Subscription Review

For the fourth month, our ScentBird subscription arrived on time. So far, soooo good! Oh, you aren’t familiar with ScentBird? Okay, we’ll give you the breakdown of what ScentBird is all about.

ScentBird ($14.95/month) is a monthly fragrance subscription service, with subscribers receiving a .33 oz sized vial of perfume. Subscribers can choose their fragrance from ScentBird’s 350 plus perfume offerings or opt to receive ScentBird’s monthly-featured scent. First month’s subscription is sent with a velveteen drawstring bag and sturdy, chic atomizer, as well as instructions for how to use the atomizer. Subscriptions are sent out on the 15th of each month. Consecutive months, subscribers receive a vial of their perfume, which we find to be brilliant as it less waste and better for the environment.

Now, you have all the information that you need regarding how ScentBird works … well actually each month we seem to discover something new about this brand. For example, last month we discovered ScentBird’s gifting option -- a perfect gift for the girl who is off to college this month or for any perfume lover, and ScentBird’s Referral Program.

This month we finally realized that the lid of the perfume vial unscrews making the vial reusable and the perfect size to take on vacation! Team TME discussed ScentBird’s less waste, better for the environment concept and finding another makes us even more excited about the brand.

Our first two months, we opted for ScentBird’s featured scent, last month we chose our own and for August 2015 we switched back to ScentBird’s featured scent. The ScentBird August 2015 fragrance choice was Burberry’s Brit, which we absolutely hated. Yes, you read that correctly -- we hated this perfume! But, that is absolutely NOT a bad thing. In fact, it’s the entire point of the amazing ScentBird subscription service.

The ScentBird August 2015 fragrance choice of Burberry Brit was a .33 fl oz bottle. Burberry Brit Eau de Toilette costs $68.00 for 1.7 fl oz bottle. So, for $14.95 we were able to give the scent a good test drive without dropping a ton of money. As we’ve previously written, while many parfum houses do offer “samples,” (and some do not) those sample vials are approximately 0.06 fl oz -- hardly enough fragrance to determine if a particular parfum is your next “signature scent”.
