Summer Travel: The Beauty Essentials

From the perspective of a reformed “over-packer,” whom we aren’t going to name, Team TME can tell you that you do not need to bring a quarter of the beauty items that you think you do. That “over-packer” – she used to travel with a suitcase just for her shoes, a carry-on filled with “essential beauty items” and wear stilettos because who wants to travel comfortably when you can look “chic” instead? Bahahaha. So, how did Miss “Over-Packer” become a reformed intelligent traveler? A sprint from one end of O’Hare to the other to catch a connecting flight … in those stilettos … plus lost luggage that contained even more “beauty essentials” and cured for life she was!

Team TME has become a group of seasoned travelers, and yes we’re apt to repack your luggage if you’re traveling with us. Whether it’s a weekend at the beach or the vacation you’ve been planning all year, we’re sharing our knowledge for traveling comfortably and arriving in style.

Case It: L.L.Bean Personal Organizer Toiletry Bag ($29.95) - Made of water-resistant fabric, the bag has side-zip storage pockets, a built-in hook that allows you to hang it anywhere (from shower rods to tree branches) and includes a removable shower caddy! And we would never recommend that you go anywhere without your sunscreen – COOLA Travel Size Sport SPF 50 Guava Mango Sunscreen Spray ($24).

Hair Care:

ECRU Luxe Treatment Travel Set ($22) – Portable sizes of ECRU New York Luxe Treatment Shampoo, Protective Silk Conditioner, and Sunlight Finishing Spray MAX all come packaged in a convenient travel bag, ensuring that your hair will be the ultimate fashion accessory wherever you go.

Davines This Is A Sea Salt Spray ($27) is now available is in travel size. One of Team TME’s current favorites because of the versatility of looks that can be created, plus all Davines products are cruelty-free, paraben-free and the brand is all about sustainability!

We also recommend Flight 001 Fill And Fly Bottle Set ($25.99) that are refillable, leak-proof, shatter-resistant, vacuum bottles for other items.

ECRU New York’s Travel Hair Dryer ($108) with patented Japanese ion technology, your hair dries hair from the inside out to infuse it with moisture, restoring luster and reducing frizz and flyaways. This hair dryer offers dual voltage to adjust drying power to meet European and American requirements and is compact.

Babyliss Nano Titanium Mini Travel Straightener ($38) - The 6-inch mini straightening iron has all the benefits of titanium and ceramic plates and in a convenient, compact size. Plus, offers dual voltage for worldwide use.

Skin Care:

You can’t forget skincare … even on the go! Colorado Aromatics Colorado Facial Kit ($63) includes all the must-have skincare for travel. Meadow Mist Oat Cleanser with jojoba beads for mild exfoliation, Starbight Mask for hydration, exfoliation and to reduce hyper pigmentation, our lavender hydrating mist for toning and our Springtide AntiAging Face Cream. Packaged together in a vinyl bag.

You also probably don’t want to forgo shaving … A gadget that we discovered over last summer is the Venus Snap Razor ($12.99) and we do not go anywhere without it. This mini razor allows for instant smoothness on the go! With five curve-hugging blades and a portable compact, you’ll be ready for anything, anytime, anywhere. Just a head’s up, no razor is TSA approved so don’t pack one in your carry-on!

Oral Care:

It doesn’t matter how lovely your locks are or how glowy your skin is if you breath stinks! Violife Slim Sonic Traveler Toothbrush & Case ($24.95) that’s large enough to fit your toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash like Marvis Jasmin Mint Travel Toothpaste ($6), DenTek Floss Picks + Case for On-the-Go ($2.99), and TheraNeem Mouthwash Travel Size by Organix South ($3.19).

Fragrance:

You could play it safe and go with your “regular” perfume or walk on the wild side with one of L’Occitane’s Travel Size Fragrances like Roses et Reines Intense Eau de Toilette Roll-on ($24).

Along the lines of “fragrance,” Team TME is again going were going where many have gone before … but most feel uncomfortable talking about. Just as we’d recommended for “Holiday Travel” we are telling you that what happens in the bathroom needs to stay in the bathroom -- for all parties concerned. Enter The Porcelain Company, which offers travel sized “potty odor” neutralizing sprays ($12.95).

Wherever you travel this summer, we hope that it is memorable and fun!
Happy Summer 2016!  xo ~Team TME
