Favorite Fragrances You Should Try

As we begin a brand new year, our commitment to introduce you to exquisite fragrances is solidified more deeply than ever. We have so many fragrances that we want to share with you that it was rather difficult to choose which ones to share first. After much debate, we choose we did. We present Shanti Shanti Miller et Bertaux and Les Secrets d'Antoine from Lothantique.

For the ladies, Shanti Shanti Miller et Bertaux (100ml - $150) launched in 2008 by the creative minds of Francis Miller and Patrick Bertaux is a vision and experience. From boxing so beautiful that one would be tempted not to open it to the vision “of a joyful India, the celebrations, throwing petals” that takes one on a journey. And although that bottling is simple, there is sophistication in that simplicity. Of note, the box is wrapped in a beautiful red ribbon to which is attached a silver charm.

Shanti Shanti Miller et Bertaux ~Notes
  • Top Notes: Pink Peppercorn (baie rose), Bulgarian Rose and Geranium
  • Mid Notes: Orris Root, Damascene Rose, and Cardamom
  • Base Notes: Patchouli and Indian Sandalwood

Shanti Shanti, which means peace, has an obvious floral woody theme, although we’ve seen it referenced as an oriental, and as previously stated is a journey. Opening with baie rose, Bulgarian rose and geranium Shanti Shanti is calming. This scent brings an instant sense of well-being. One is moved and embraced by the mid notes with drydown leaving a lovely full rose and patchouli scent. Often when we think of India we think of heavy sandalwood laden fragrances, but Shanti Shanti captures the lighter essences of India … Scent classification: Floral Woody; Created by: Francis Miller and Patrick Bertaux; Season: All; Sillage: 3-Moderate; Longevity: 4-Long Lasting; Bottling-5.

For the gents, Lothantique Les Secrets D'Antoine Eau deToilette for Men (100 ml - $34) was launched 2014 and is an ode to Antoine. Lothantique pays tribute to him with a new collection of treatments, but we’re going to focus upon the Eau de Toilette for Men.

Lothantique Les Secrets D'Antoine ~Notes
  • Top Notes: Tangerine and Citrus Zest
  • Mid Notes: Green Moss
  • Base Notes: Cedar

Les Secrets D'Antoine Eau de Toilette opens with a subtle citrus and hints of spice. The fragrance is dramatic without drama as it takes you to a burst of green moss and leaves you with a lightly scented citrus wood. Les Secrets D'Antoine Eau de Toilette is the perfect understated manly fragrance. It is for the man who knows his power and has no need to flaunt it. The flacon is dark with an old-world feel, as the label resembles something you’d find on a bottle of aged bourbon. Scent classification: Citrus Woody; Created by: Lothantique; Season: Perfect for the warmer months, yet an all seasons scent; Sillage: 3-Moderate; Longevity: 4-Long Lasting; Bottling-5.
