Easy Spring and Summer Hair Style with Sarah Potempa

There is a really good reason why we love Sarah Potempa! Our “love affair” started long ago when Sarah was working with a hair care brand … long before the days of the Beachwaver … yep, we knew way back in the day that this woman had the inventive mind and magic touch to create the styles that we absolutely adore for Spring and Summer! So, we are again very thankful to share Sarah’s latest with our beloved readers! The looks are Cali-inspired and perfect for the entire season!

Braided Ponytail:

Step 1: Make a heavy side part. Take the top section of hair and lightly back brush with The Beachwaver Co. Mini On Set Brush for volume.

Step 2: Create two French braids, one across the side of the head and the other starting at the ear and curving down around the hairline.

Step 3:  Pull the hair into a ponytail, leaving the bottom braid out. Wrap the braid around the ponytail and secure with a pin.

Step 4: Loosely curl the remaining hair in the ponytail with The Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1.25.

Braided Headpiece:

Step 1: Using a comb, part hair so there is an even one inch section in the center of your head.

Step 2: Starting from the back of the head, do an inverted French braid until you reach the front.

Step 3: Separate the section of hair in the front into two sections. Braid each side and pin behind hair.

Step 4: Smooth the ends with The Beachwaver Co. Coast ProCeramic Styling Iron.

Tiered Bubble Ponytail Braid:

Step 1: Divide hair into clean, even sections with The Beachwaver Co. Darby Clips and curl with The Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1.

Step 2: Create an inverted French braid down the center of the head and secure with a clear elastic at the crown of the head.

Step 3: Make two 3 strand braids on either side of the head and add them to the ponytail, securing with a clear elastic 1 inch below the first. Create two more 3 strand braids one inch below, securing with a clear elastic.

Mixed Braids and Waves:

Step 1: Divide hair into clean, even sections with The Beachwaver Co. Darby Clips and curl with The Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S.75 from the bottom layer up.

Step 2: Create a fishtail braid on each side of the head. Pancake the braids by gently tugging at the edges to give them more texture and fullness. Add a three-strand braid on one side of the head and pin it back over the fishtail. Watch the “How-To” on our YouTube Channel.
