How To Wear Pantone’s 2018 Color of the Year

By now you’ve probably heard that Pantone, the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, announced on Dec. 7, PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet as the Pantone Color of the Year selection for 2018. The explanation behind this particular hue -- “Historically, there has been a mystical or spiritual quality attached to Ultra Violet. The color is often associated with mindfulness practices, which offer a higher ground to those seeking refuge from today’s over-stimulated world.”

While this hue is not exactly a personal favorite, we’re all for some major chill in a world that seems to often leave us spinning out to find a bit of calm. The global recognition that color has a direct effect on mood is one that we concur with and one that we practice. As we previously stated, Ultra Violet is not a favorite hue however it’s one that we can absolute incorporate into our surroundings to help inspire focus and community -- for which we could all use a little more of.
