Spring Nail Art Trends

Despite a continued chill in the air and an expectation of more snow … spring has indeed arrived. Bright spring colors, along with pretty pastels are beginning to pop up. And with Easter celebrations just a week away, it’s time to put away the dark hued polishes and change up your nail polish colors.

In many situations such as work, school and Easter observances, we often have to tone down our hair, makeup and fashion. But the exception seems to be nail art. Nails are sort of the last frontier where it is completely expectable to really express our individuality. So with that in mind, The Makeup Examiner has put together a few spring and Easter nail art inspirations!

Color Blocking: This is one of the hottest nail art trends for Spring 2013. Create you nail art designs by using two shades of bold, bright colors. The shades can be either quirky contrasting or matching complementary. Either way that you decide to go, try one of this season’s hottest colors like tangerine, hot pink or turquoise.

Pretty Flower Power: Spring is usually filled with florals and 2013 is no exception. Floral nail art continues to be a major trend for this season and this is another look where you can choose to be demure with pastels or fun with bold hues.

Polka Dots: Is there any nail art design that is easier to do? A polka dot design is extremely versatile, which gives you so many options. Try pink and black for a retro look or turquoise and white for a sweet, classic style. Also, experiment with both large and small polka dots.

Season Nail Art: We’ve spotted everything from social media inspired nail art to Christmas trees. This inspiration is easily carried into spring with designs like bunnies and Easter eggs for your Easter celebrations.

Matte French Mani: You probably aren’t thinking about black for spring, but check out the OPI Matte French Mani and you will change your mind! This is my favorite look for S/S 2013 and albeit a jump away from tradition, I dare you to try it.

Keep in mind that it does take practice to conquer a perfect nail look. And to achieve the best results you will want to use high quality nail polishes, along with clean nails and clean nail art tools.
