Summer Beauty Tips To Solve Your Summer Beauty Problems

Summer, just like winter, presents unique beauty challenges. Heat, humidity, chlorine … ugh! It’s almost enough to make us want to stay indoors until the fall. Yeah, right. As if any beautynista is going to let a little thing like the weather get in the way of a good time or looking good!

Bare skin, skin problems, dry lips, dry nails, and frizzy hair, don’t sweat it. From skin and makeup to hair and nails, The Makeup Examiner has you covered for summer. Check out these tips and products, and then get out there and enjoy your summer!

Get Glowing - Glowing, fresh skin looks healthy and pretty. Skin luminizer adds a beautiful shimmer to bare skin. A great multi-use product is BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector ($41). It can be worn alone or mixed with your favorite foundation and can be applied to your arms or legs or anyplace that you want to highlight.

Fake It - We all know that tanning, in- or outdoors is not good for us and not everyone is down with sunless tanning products. A fabulous alternative is Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs lotion (12.99). Available in four shades, water resistant, and easy to apply this leg makeup gives you an instant tan without any hassle.

Juice It Up - The summertime is all about casual. So instead of full on lip pencil and lipstick, opt for a sheer color juicy gloss that will add both dimension and moisture to your pretty pout. The Makeup Examiner has fallen in love with CoverGirl Smoochies Lip Balm ($4.99). Smoochies offers sheer color and keep lips moisturized with lip conditioners. Another TME favorite, for nighttime or a more polished look, is Hourglass Extreme Sheen High Shine Lip Gloss ($28). Hourglass offers mega pigment, mega shine and will keep your lips hydrated.

Get Cheeky - The Makeup Examiner has referenced this product so many times this season, but BECCA Cosmetics Beach Tint ($25) is the perfect summer product to give your checks a beachy glow. Added bonus – it doubles as a lip stain.

Scary Hair - No matter whether your have straight or curly hair, humidity is problem. Add sun and chlorine into the mix and you can end up with scary hair! The best product that The Makeup Examiner has found for us curly haired ladies is Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray by Sexy Hair (19.95). The spray gives gorgeous curls sans an iron and protects hair with the power of Argan Oil. If you opt to straighten your hair, or have straight hair, Marco Anti-Frizz Leave-In Conditioner with Collagen Color Guard ($33) is a must to keep those locks looking lovely. Marco keeps the frizzes at bay while protecting hair from damage and it is light, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally using too much.

Nail It - The Makeup Examiner seemed to suffer from one nail issue or another, no matter the season. Taking matters into … onto my own hands, I’ve opted to go about as organic as one can get with nail lacquers. The Makeup Examiner has been using Honeybee Gardens WaterColors Nail Enamel ($9.99) and my nails are so much healthier. With 25 shades, you unlikely to get bored and Honeybee is continuously coming out with new ones.

Odoriferous - Okay, The Makeup Examiner isn’t taking about natural body odor, although if you’re having a problem with that I can recommend Secret Deodorant Stress Response in Serene Citrus ($8). I think that a lot of people forget, or don’t realize, that perfume reacts differently in the summer months. A woodsy scent in the winter can be wonderful, but can be overwhelming during the summer. Two choices with this, either lighten up on the amount that you use or opt for a lighter scent.

When The Day Is Done - The Makeup Examiner will continue to suggest, warn, and scream about not going to bed with your makeup on! Get a skin regime and stick to it. With that said, there are several Bioré products that will help with summer skin problems. New on the beauty market is Bioré Acne Clearing Scrub ($5.99). Bioré Pore Unclogging Scrub ($5.99), just got a new look, and is magic when it comes to getting rid of all the dirt and sweat that accumulates in your pores. And of course, the ultimate weapon … Bioré Deep Cleansing Pore Strips ($8.50). Even if you’re on the go, you don’t have to neglect your face. Through makeup remover towelettes in your bag and rock on!
