Ulta Beauty and beauty brands support Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Ulta Beauty announced today Oct. 1, that throughout the month of October, Ulta will participate in fundraising events to support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Events include the third year of the nationwide fundraising event, “The Salon at UltaCut-A-Thon”.

Armed with knowledge, beautynistas need to move and participate in the fight to end breast cancer. According to statistics from the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women. About 1 in 8 (12%) women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime. The chance that breast cancer will be responsible for a woman's death is about 1 in 36 (about 3%). BCRF provides funding for innovative clinical research and currently 91 cents of every dollar spent by BCRF goes directly toward breast cancer research and awareness programs.

Although Ulta’s “Cut-A-Thon,” which will be held on Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Ulta salons across the US, is the largest fundraising event, Ulta offers customers a plethora of options to support BCRF fundraising initiatives with their “Donate With A Kiss” campaign. And Ulta Beauty isn’t the only company supporting BCRF this month. The “Donate with a Kiss” campaign is expected to showcase more than 1 million kisses across all 576 Ulta Beauty stores nationally. To participate, customers can donate $1 to receive a kiss sticker that they can take home or display in the store, and can also register to win a beauty bag of “pink” products valued at $598. The “Donate with a Kiss” campaign is also offering limited-edition accessories just in time to kickoff holiday shopping.

  • Give $5 and receive an Ulta Donate with a Kiss Compact Mirror
  • Give $5 and receive an Ulta Donate with a Kiss Bangle Bracelet
  • Give $10 and receive an Ulta Donate with a Kiss Jewelry Box
  • Give $15 and receive an Ulta Donate with a Kiss Fashion Scarf

If you’re looking to change up your style for fall, the “Cut-A-Thon” event offers an amazing opportunity to accomplish a new look and support a cause the effects all women. With a suggested donation of $10, participants receive a shampoo, cut, and styling. In 2012, Ulta Beauty stylists performed more than 23,000 haircuts during the “Cut-A-Thon” and they are aiming to beat that record this year. 100% of donations from this event will go to BCRF.
