5 Easy Makeup Looks For Labor Day Weekend and LDW Savings

Labor Day Weekend 2019 will unofficially start for Team TME at about 4:30 pm this afternoon and if you’re anything like this crazy bunch of ornery peeps, you’re probably looking to relish every last bit of Summer this Labor Day Weekend. It’s as simple beginning with a replay of the most coveted looks of summer before the season is gone for good. Break out your bright lipsticks, even brighter nail colors and dewy, radiant skin, and say a proper Au Revoir to Summer 2019 with the hottest beauty looks of the season.

The Golden Gaze – If you want that twinkle in your eye to last long after the dog days of summer are through? Apply a drop of water to an eyeshadow brush and dip into Illamasqua Powder Eye Shadow in Tango. The high pigmentation of the shadow mixed with the water will make for unforgettable eyes that are guaranteed to make that cutie at your weekend barbecue stop dead in his tracks!

Pretty Pout - Craving the ultimate coral lip that looks just as juicy on as it does in the tube? Look no further than Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in CORALista. This dazzling lip-gloss enhances your natural beauty by adding a ton of dazzle with a hint of color.

Entrancing Eyes - Looking to cause a scene with summer crush during your weekend getaway? Swipe on MAC TECHNAKOHL LINER in Metalhead. When placed on the eyelid, the color blue produces a dramatic look that is bold and captivating.

Cheeky Cheeks - Stuck deciding whether to apply blush or bronzer for a nighttime affair? Now you don’t have to choose with Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Pink Mosaic. It’s the perfect solution to giving your cheeks a rosy summer glow, sans hours in the sun.

Nailing It - Just because summer’s over doesn’t mean you have to lighten up on your nails. Bright colors can still be worn during the transitional time between summer to fall and have been seen on models in countless runway shows. Get your last kicks in with Essie Nail Polish in Watermelon. It’s the perfect mix of pink and red that screams sweet and sexy.

To round out, or to start off your LDW, check out the saving on two of our favorite brands! VOLOOM has a $25 off VOLOOM Irons and VOLOOM Iron Kits from Friday, Aug 30th – Tuesday, Sept 3rd is you use the code LABORDAY. 2018 Beauty Survival Guide For Coachella and the Music Festival Season

Kicking off in just a few days, on Friday April 13, is the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. And that means that the music festival season is finally upon us. The music festivals of today are not your mother’s “Woodstock”. Far from it in fact! Coachella is a place to see and be seen, just as much as it is a music and arts event. This is true of a lot of the major music events you’ll be attending this spring and summer. You just never know who you’re gonna run into (Trust Us On This One!) and you want to look picture perfect. Read on to find out what you do (and don’t) need to look festival festive!

Let’s start with a quick rundown of your wardrobe. Um … you’re going to be outdoors all day … and night. Not to mention that temperatures in Indio will be in the 90s. Dress in light, breathable fabrics. But, don’t forget something a little warmer for the evening because the temps can go down into the 40s at night. To get a better idea of the temp and terrain check out TME Picks: Michael Stars Faded Shade Floppy Hat ($42); Free People Braeburn Ankle Boots ($168); Westward Leaning CONCORDE 10 Sunglasses ($205); Forever 21 Hooded Denim Jacket ($32.90).

As for your beauty products, this is a place to keep it simple. We actually read a perfume suggestion for Coachella and just about died laughing. You all know we love our fragrances and we love our Fragrance Of The Month series, but anyone who’s been to a warm weather outdoor festival knows that fragrances are a lovely way to attract insects and piss off other festival-goers. However, deodorant is a must. TME Pick: Secret Outlast ($5.99). And speaking of those bugs check out Eco-Armour Outdoor Botanical Insect Repellent & Moisturizer ($12.50). Eco-Amour is a TME Favorite for a million reasons, but the double-duty Outdoor is a must-have for Coachella and all summer long!

To begin your music fest beauty regimen, first and foremost are sunscreen and beauty products that contain sunscreen. For all over protection our pick is Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Spray Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ For Face & Body ($36). Next up is BB Cream or Tinted Moisturizer. TME Pick: NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($43 - available in 11 shades and travel size) is an oil-free formula that provides buildable coverage with the sun protection you need.

Mascara … if you must. We all have our favorite brands for everyday, but there is only one mascara that we’d wear (if we were going to bother) at Coachella. Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Lengthening Mascara ($24) because it will not budge until you take it off. This isn’t our favorite type of mascara for everyday, but again, if you have to wear mascara this is the one to go with.

Just as we would probably skip the mascara, we would NEVER skip the lip balm. Tinted lip balm is a must to keep your pout pretty. TME Pick: Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm SPF 20 ($8.99) is available in six shades and will keep your lips from getting sunburned and chapped, while giving them a tint of color.

Throughout the day (and night) you’re going to want to freshen up. Pixi Glow Mist ($15) is really soothing and nourishing anytime you feel like hydrating your skin. Also, an absolute must-have is a pack of cleansing cloths like La Fresh Travel Lite Makeup Remover Wipes ($19.99). As for your hair, we recommended that cool Michael Stars hat for a reason, but you may also want to opt for dry shampoo. TME Pick: Klorane's Dry Shampoo ($19.50).

Lastly, you need something to put all of your stuff in. TME Pick: Nasty Gal x Nila Anthony Nothin' to Hide Backpack ($40). Did we say lastly? Oops. Okay, we covered beauty survival. But, you need to remember that while you’re having a great time (and looking good doing so) be smart and stay safe! See ya’ out there. XO Team TME

Summer 2017 Beauty and Grooming Essentials Part One

The unofficial start of Summer 2017 will occur in just a few days with the kickoff of Memorial Day weekend on May 29! To celebrate the start of summer, many of us will flock to the beach or chill out lakeside and this usually sets the tone for our summertime experience. The weather has been predictably unpredictably with miserable humidity one week and then almost fall like chill the next. This time of year, you just never know what the weather is going to be like, so best to be prepared for anything. Ahead of a myriad of beauty disasters, and general discomfort, Team TME set out to gather up the beauty and grooming must haves for the upcoming season.

Skin Care: For a day spent outdoors, don’t you dare forget your sunscreen and lip balm! Our current favorites; jane iredale Powder-Me SPF 30 Dry Sunscreen ($47 – available in Translucent, Golden and Tanned) this chemical-free dry sunscreen for the face, body, and scalp nourishes, protects and soothes the skin; Dermaflage ScarScreen SPF 30 ($25) is ideal for use following cosmetic procedures; PCA Skin Weightless Protection Broad Spectrum SPF 45 ($42) is quick-absorbing and lightweight. For Lips, we are loving Sun Bum SPF 30 Lip Balm ($3.99 – available in six flavors) that offers added protection of Aloe and Vitamin E keeping your pout pretty and jane iredale Lip Drink SPF 15 ($15 – available in four shades) that leaves lips feeling moisturized, protected, and refreshingly scented with a hint of color.

Whether or not you opt to wear makeup you need a good skin care regimen. Our current favorites; Golden Door Soothing Cleansing Foam and Golden Door Soothing Toner ($64 each); boscia Tsubaki Glotion ($38) or Senté Daily Repair Complex with SPF 30 ($130) moisturizers for daytime and Junetics Pure Energy Night Cream ($109). All of the aforementioned brands are TME Must-Haves for Summer 2017, however Olay has just launched a few of the brand’s cult favorites with SPF 30 -- Olay Complete ($12.99), Olay Total Effects ($21.99), and Olay PROx Age Repair Lotion ($47.99) -- that are absolutely worth trying this summer. To wash away the day it’s Jason Nourishing Foaming Shower Oil ($11) and Olay Fresh Outlast in Energizing Lime ($6.99). Right out of the shower, Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals Energizing Antioxidant Body Lotion ($24)!

Cosmetics: We’re usually telling you to keep it simple when you’re chillin’ outdoors. A little CC cream, beach tint, mascara, lip tint and you’re good to go. That truly is our go-to style for summer. This summer, we’ve found a few products that really sizzle and are worth trying for a more sophisticated look. So, we’re including our absolute go-tos along with a few fresh must-tries!

The Big Chill - Our current favorites … Golden Door Zen CC Cream SPF 50 ($58) -- let’s just say that everyone on Team TME is calling this the number one must-have for Summer 2017! Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek ($24 – available in four shades), and Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Waterproof Mascara ($19).

Melt The Pavement: If you’re looking to have your base last, all day and night, then you have to try Laura Geller Spackle Treatment Soothing Make-Up Primer ($32). As we’ve named Golden Door Zen CC Cream the number one must-have, we would have to say that La Prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Transforming Cream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($195 – available in four shades) the number two must-have with its buildable coverage. Mirabella Visionary Longwear Eyeshadow ($19) isn’t going to crease and looks beautiful all day or night, Charlotte Tilbury Cara D. Brow Lift Eyebrow Pencil ($30) is amazing and takes minutes to shape and define, jane iredale bronzer refills ($44 each) – these three bronzer quads can be swept across eyes, cheeks and lips to contour and highlight for a luxurious look that’s made in the shade! Of course, you have to grab the NEW rose gold slim compact ($18) for on the go, rounding out our menagerie of makeup … LAUREN+VANESSA Lip Stick ($24) with lots of shades and amazing cushion!

We found so many amazing products that we believe are must-haves for Summer 2017. Did you really think that we would forget the guys or leave you in the lurch with your hair? Jamais! We’ll be back with "Summer 2017 Beauty and Grooming Essentials Part Two" tomorrow!
