Blake Lively At ‘Age of Adaline’ Premiere Get The Look

Blake Lively brightened up the red carpet at the NYC premiere of “The Age of Adaline” Sunday, April 19.  The Gossip Girl alum, 27, stars in the upcoming romance opposite MichielHuisman who plays her love interest. L’Oréal Paris worked with Elaine Offers for Blake’s beautiful Red Carpet look and shares the “how-to” with The Makeup Examiner readers!

Inspiration: “Blake’s red Monique Lhuillier dress was super glamorous in that old school way. It was such a classic Red Carpet look – something you might see in Cannes. We kept the makeup on-theme and timeless.” -Elaine Offers for L’Oréal Paris

Get The Look:

STEP 1: Elaine prepped skin with L’Oréal Paris RevitaLift Miracle Blur ($24.99) for a smooth base complexion

STEP 2: She then used L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in Sun Beige ($14.99) for all-over coverage and a flawless finish.  She topped cheekbones and corners of the eyes off with accents of Magic Lumi Highlighter ($12.95) for added radiance

STEP 3: Elaine turned to mid-tone browns in the NEW L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude ($19.99) to add dimension to Blake’s eyes, further contouring the corners with a darker brown shadow shade

STEP 4: Next, she applied L’Oréal Paris Smokissime Eyeliner in Black ($8.99) close to the lashline to add dimension.  For additional twinkle, she lined waterlines using Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Highlighter ($8.99)

STEP 6: L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Plumper in Light/Medium ($8.99) was used to arch and fill in brows

STEP 6: Elaine coated lashes with L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Mascara ($7.29), a classic favorite

STEP 7: Lips boasted a combination of L’Oréal Paris Infallible Lipliner in Coral ($8.99) and L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Balm Pop in Bold Blush ($7.99), as Elaine wanted the end result to be shapely and pretty, but not overly defined or too bold in color

L’Oréal Paris can be found online at L’Oréal and retailers nationwide.

New Hairstyle Inspirations For The New Year

As the year comes to a close, we all get the itch for change as we prepare to start fresh in the New Year. To give us a dose of inspiration for a new 2015 ‘do, Pureology Artistic Ambassador Natasha Sunshine shares her favorite haircuts for all lengths and tips on how to choose the best cut for your face shape.

Strong & Short: Kristen Stewart transformed herself from girl-next-door to Hollywood goddess with her sleek, short-layered haircut.
  • Best on: Oval face shapes
  • Best hair texture: Fine to medium, thick hair can look too masculine
  • Favorite product: Pureology Colour Stylist Density Definer medium hold crème wax
  • Styling time: 5 minutes
How to Style: Apply a nickel to quarter size of Pureology Colour Stylist Density Definer medium hold crème wax to damp hair. Emulsify product until it is evenly spread across both palms. Pat palms all over, making sure to cover all areas of the head. To finish, rake your hair back and tuck hair behind ears.

The Undone Bob: Model Karlie Kloss proves that cute can be sexy too with her playful, layered bob. The key to this style is mastering the “undone” style.
How to Style: Spray Pureology Curl Complete Uplifting Curl on damp hair and scrunch in. Apply a dollop of Colour Stylist Cuticle Polisher shine serum, evenly distributing throughout. Blowdry on a medium setting and scrunch a natural texture into the hair. If hair looks too undone and messy, use a 1” barrel iron on every other section of the hair. Point the tip of your iron towards the floor and wind hair in a spiral fashion away from the face (tip: just the ends is fine when curling hair at this length). Scrunch ironed curls and natural texture together to get a more polished yet not-too-perfect wave.

Layered Lob with Fringe: Alexa Chung nails it with this winning combo of almost blunt bangs and a long layered bob. The hint of auburn in her dark brown hair is the perfect accent to her sultry cut.
How to Style: Add a pea to dime size dollop of Colour Stylist Nourishing Nectar sculpting gel to damp hair. Distribute product evenly throughout. Blowdry fringe (bangs) with a medium-sized round brush. Scrunch the rest of your hair until dry. Add a dime size of Colour Stylist Piecing Sculpt high-holding sculpting fiber paste to ends for added shine and texture from mid-shafts to ends.

Classic Long Layers: The always stunning Blake Lively wears her golden locks in classic long layers. Be sure to add dimension to hair color, whether blonde or brunette, to make this style look its best.
  • Best on: Most face shapes
  • Best Hair Texture: Medium to thick hair
  • Favorite product: Pureology Colour Stylist Cuticle Polisher shine serum
  • Styling time: 25-35 minutes
How to Style: Apply a generous dollop of Colour Stylist Cuticle Polisher shine serum from mid-shaft to ends. Flip head over and blowdry while scrunching until dry. Using a 1 ½” barrel curling iron, grab large pieces (about 2-3” in diameter) and wrap around the iron in a spiral fashion. Change direction on each section and change the height at which you start the curl. For example, only curl the last 6” inches on some sections, the last 3” on others and some all the way from the root. Rotate all options to create a natural-looking texture. Scrunch all sections together once done and if necessary, flip head back over and add heat from the dryer to loosen curls. For added shine, add a touch more of Colour Stylist Cuticle Polisher.

NARS and Stars On The Red Carpet At The 2014 Met Ball Get The Look Exclusive

The Met Gala -- also known as The Met Ball, Fashion Prom, or this year, Cinco de Met Ball took place on the evening on May 5th at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. And, as always, the stars were shining brightly for this annual fundraiser that benefits the Met's Costume Institute. The Met Ball also serves as an opening celebration for The Met’s annual fashion exhibit, which features designer Charles James in a new show titled “Beyond Fashion”. Everyone from Sarah Jessica Parker to Blake Lively and Solange Knowles to Jessica Paré was in attendance. And The Makeup Examiner has the exclusive Get The Look for these gorgeous women!

Kirsten Dunst - NARS worked with Celebrity Makeup Artist Jeanine Lobell to create the beauty look for Kirsten Dunst. Beauty Inspiration:” Kirsten’s look featured elements of Star Wars and the idea of intergalactic travel with a twenties inspired hairstyle. The makeup tied all of these concepts together.” Key NARS products used:Sycorax Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow (New for summer) | Interstellar Eye Paint | Luxembourg Satin Lip Pencil

Blake Lively - NARS worked with Celebrity Makeup Artist Elaine Offers to create the beauty look for Blake Lively. Beauty Inspiration: “This look is very classic but very glamorous. We wanted to nod to Charles James’ aesthetic by creating a look reminiscent of vintage Hollywood but modernize it with a muted red lip.” Key NARS products used: Baalbek Eye Paint | Subra Dual Intensity Eyeshadow (new for Summer 2014) | Salsa Lip Liner Pencil

Jessica Paré - NARS worked with Celebrity Makeup Artist Mai Quynh to create the beauty look for Jessica Paré. Beauty Inspiration: “I wanted this look to be very glamorous but not too traditional which is why we opted for a bright lip; it's the first time we've gone bold for the red carpet!. To keep the look fresh and modern I decided to forego eyeliner and instead create a wash of metallic on the eyes.” Key NARS products used: Anguilla Matte Multiple | Himalia Dual Intensity Eyeshadow (new for Summer 2014) | Yu Satin Lip Pencil

Karen Elson - NARS Lead Makeup Stylist Jenny Smith created the beauty look for Karen Elson. Beauty Inspiration: "This is timeless beauty and reflects the way women of the 1950's used small details in their application for spectacular enhancement of their features. We opted for a reddish-orange lip and created the tiniest flick of eyeliner for subtle definition." Key NARS products used:Red Square Velvet Matte Lip Pencil | Radiant Cream Compact Foundation in Siberia | Cruella Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

Solange Knowles - NARS worked with Celebrity Makeup Artist Benjamin Puckey to create the beauty look for Solange Knowles. Beauty Inspiration: After looking at her dress, we decided that the focus should be her eyes. We imagined this dark and smokey-bronzed look with a lot of mascara. Glowing cheeks and a nude lip really helped to intensify the dramatic effect. Key NARS products used: Subra Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow (New for Summer 2014) | Siam Matte Multiple | Isola Bella Satin Lip Pencil

Sarah Jessica Parker - NARS worked with Celebrity Makeup Artist Leslie Lopez to create the beauty look for Sarah Jessica Parker. Beauty Inspiration: “Her makeup look is a modern version of something we’d see from the 1950s. Oscar de la Renta created her dress with Charles James in mind so I created a very distinct shape for the eye that was popular during that era.” Key NARS products used:Giove Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow (New for Summer 2014) | Via Veneto Larger Than Life Eyeliner | Adelaïde Illuminator
