Did you miss us last month? Awww … we missed you too! But,
we are back with more amazing picks for Fragrance Of The Month April 2015.
Although, Spring 2015 arrived at 6:57 p.m. on March 20, you’d never have known
it. And we know that we’ve continuously promised that warmer days are arriving.
Guess what? We were correct, as the temperatures have finally begun to creep
upward!
We digress. Getting to our Fragrance Of The Month, we turn
to Ireland, more precisely Fragrances Of Ireland with two luscious scents.
Given that a set of Yvonne’s ancestors hail from County Clare and that
Fragrances Of Ireland is a mere 160 miles away in County Wicklow you just know
that she’s waxing sentimental and we’re handing over FOM to someone else.
Moving on …
For ladies it’s Inis the Energy of the Sea (100ml -$55),
which was launched in 1998 and has completely surprised us, as it is such a
fresh scent. Inis is the Irish word for island, and the fragrance was inspired
by Roundstone Beach on the western coast of Ireland. Inis is a unisex fragrance
and while we can see the gents snagging this for themselves, we’re keeping it
for us!
Inis the Energy of the Sea Notes~
- Top: Néroli, Bergamot, Sicilian Lemon, Sea Notes
- Mid: Lily Of The Valley and Geranium
- Base: Nutmeg, Sandalwood, Musk, Cloves, Oakmoss
We classify Inis as an Aromatic Aquatic and it is love at
first spritz. Wrapped in citrus with a comforting release of sea notes, lily of
the valley and geranium, the fragrance is nothing less then delicious. The
feeling that Inis evokes is quiet, understated and seductive. While the base
notes are present, nothing is overwhelming about Inis. It’s a masterfully
blended fragrance that we would wear everyday. Perfumer: The Late Arthur Burnham; Season: Spring/Summer; Sillage: 3; Longevity: 4; Bottling-4
For our gentlemen readers, we present Patrick (100ml -
$40). Launched in 1999 and inspired by Ireland’s patron saint. Patrick has an
Oriental Woody theme that is lovely and amazingly affordable, as it’s such a
quality scent.
Patrick Notes~
- Top: Fern, Spicy Notes, Sicilian Lemon, Green Notes
- Mid: Carnation and Rose
- Base: Patchouli, Oakmoss, Vetiver, Musk
Patrick opens with a fresh green scent and hints at
citrus. It evokes the feeling of the countryside after the rain. As with Inis,
there is no part of the olfactory journey that overwhelms. Drydown does bring
the heavier side of this fragrance with evidence of oakmoss and patchouli.
Patrick is a manly scent that is refreshing and can easily be worn year-round.
Season: All Seasons; Sillage: 3-Moderate; Longevity-5; Bottling-4.
