L’Oreal Paris At The 2015 Emmys Get The Looks

The 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were held last night, Sep. 20 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and Team TME has all the looks for your favorite stars. From Naomi to Heidi and Gina to Taraji we have the full beauty how-tos … straight from the source!

Heidi Klum (NAILS)

MANICURIST: L’Oréal Paris Global Manicurist, Tom Bachik

INSPIRATION: “Heidi wore a beautiful yellow Versace gown and to allow it to own center stage, we kept her nails simple. She’s gearing up for a trip overseas, so we shaped her nails shorter than they’ve been recently – Heidi loves having gorgeous long nails – and polished them cleanly so that the look would last not only for Emmys night, but wear nicely into the next week or two.”

STEP 1: First, Tom filed nails into a classic round shape.

STEP 2: He next applied two coats of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail, allowing her natural nail to be slightly visible through the sheer hue.

STEP 3: Tom advises maintaining a manicure using L’Oréal Paris Glow Renewal Facial Oil; a drop on each nail 1-2 daily will keep nail color looking fresh and shiny, and cuticles hydrated.

Sarah Hyland (HAIR)

HAIR STYLIST: Ryan Richman for L’Oréal Paris

INSPIRATION: “Sarah's Zac Posen gown was sleek and elegant.  I like to do the opposite with the hair so opted for a messy tousled wave. I've been doing Sarah's hair for about two years so often times the challenge is to do something I've never done before.  I have done her hair wavy countless times but never quite like this.  This texture shows off her amazing cut and color and accommodated the look well.”

STEP 1: First, Ryan prepped damp hair by spraying a generous amount of L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Blow Out HeatSpray, focusing at the root.  He used a wide-toothed comb to distribute product throughout the hair and create a deep side part.

STEP 2: Using a blow dryer and his fingers, Ryan roughdried the roots until halfway dry.  He picked up a medium boar bristle round brush to finish drying each section - being careful not to over-smooth the hair - for added volume and a little natural texture.

STEP 3: He next used a 1" flat iron on medium heat to create a tousled wave, spraying L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold on each section before curling, and holding the flat iron vertically facing down clamp a 1" section of hair at the base of the head.  In a fluid motion, he twisted the iron and pushed downward to create a loose beachy wave.  Ryan alternated directions of the wave as he moved throughout the hair for a beautiful tousled-texture result.

STEP 4:  To follow, Ryan rubbed a small amount of L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Hyper-Fix Putty into the palms of his hands.  Focusing at the root, he worked the product through the hair roughly with his hands.

STEP 5: Last, he used a bobby pin to secure the small side of the part behind Sarah’s ear and misted L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold all over the hair to lock in the style.

Naomi Watts (HAIR)

HAIRSTYLIST: CervandoMaldonado/The Wall Group for L’Oréal Paris

INSPIRATION: “The inspiration behind this look was to create a tousled, modern updo with a chic, 1960’s twist.”

STEP 1: To ensure high-shine, Cervando first washed hair with Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss Shampoo and Conditioner.

STEP 2: Next, onto damp hair, Cervando applied Advanced Hairstyle Curve It Elastic Curl Mousse to help create texture, as well as Advanced Hairstyle Boost It Blow Out Heat Spray both at the roots and combed through the rest of hair.

STEP 3: He then rough dried hair and put Velcro rollers in to add volume. After letting the rollers set, he blew out the hair straight and smooth.

STEP 4:  After dry, Cervando sprayed Advanced Hairstyle Txt It Tousle Waves Spray for all-over polish, texture and movement.

STEP 5:  Next, he dried the hair with a diffuser and created small waves with a flat iron.

STEP 6: Cervando then pulled Naomi’s hair back into a loose updo and twisted the hair, pinning as he twisted. He chose to leave Naomi’s bangs and a couple of face framing wisps out to accentuate her tousled look.

STEP 7: Once secured, Cervando lightly misted Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss High Shine Glossing Mist to lock in shine, then sprayed L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold to hold the look in place.

Naomi Watts (MAKEUP)

MAKEUP ARTIST: Monika Blunder for L’Oreal Paris

INSPIRATION: “Naomi wore a beautiful Dior dress that was soft with silver beading and a touch of floral. The look we created to complement the dress was very modern and fresh with a 60’s twist.”

STEP 1: Monika moisturized skin with L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Skin Illuminator and then started by applying L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup W-3 all over the face with a damp sponge and used concealer to spot conceal the areas that needed more coverage.

STEP 2: Then, Monika worked on the brows. She wanted to create strong brow since the rest of the makeup was very soft and fresh. She used L’Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Sculptor in Brunette to create a fuller brow by filling in gaps and adding definition.

STEP 3: For the eyes, she used the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude 2. She used shade #3 in the crease and shade #1 in the inner corners to highlight and open up the eyes.

STEP 4: Next, she used L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Eyeliner in Black Brown very close to the upper lash line to create more depth and to make the lash line appear fuller. She then used shade #6 from the eye palette to soften the line. To finish the eyes, she curled the lashes and applied three coats of L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara.

STEP 5: For the cheeks, she wanted something healthy and dewy-looking. She used L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift Blush in Soft Peach to create a soft flush on the apples of the cheeks. Then she highlighted the tops of the cheekbones and brow bones using the L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in Ice.

STEP 6: For lips, she created a soft, peachy pink by first applying L’Oreal Paris Le Matte Lip Colour in Game, Set, Matte and layered L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lipcolour in Fairest Nude to soften the color

STEP 7: To ensure the makeup lasted all day during one of the hottest days in LA, she finished the look with L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Set & Spray Makeup Extender Setting Spray.

Naomi Watts (NAILS)

MAKEUP ARTIST: TraceySutter/Cloutier Remix for L'Oréal Paris

INSPIRATION: “The overall inspiration for this look was to choose shades that stay true to Naomi's classic red carpet style and subtlety complement her natural beauty. The result was a timeless, barley-there manicure look.”

STEP 1: Tracey started with a dry manicure to ensure nail beds did not have too much moisture, which helps polish dry quicker.

STEP 2: Then, Tracey shaped Naomi’s nails a natural round and tended to cuticles, followed by a long soothing massage on both hands and feet.

STEP 3: Tracey and Naomi decided on L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Nailcolor in Passionate Petal together, as Naomi prefers a classy, sophisticated and very clean finish.  Tracey applied just one coat of color and topped it off with the hue’s corresponding topcoat for extra high-shine and protection against chips.

Rebecca Rittenhouse (HAIR)

HAIRSTYLIST: L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Hairstylist, Mara Roszak

INSPIRATION: “This look was inspired by the gorgeous dress Rebecca wore. Rebecca had an idea of what look she wanted and we both agreed that hair down was definitely the way to go, but we wanted to keep the hair off of her face. We went with a very clean and classic style with a modern center part.”

STEP 1: After washing with Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss Shampoo and Conditioner, Mara applied Advanced Hairstyle Blow Dry It Thermal Smoother Cream, all over and then parted Rebecca’s hair down the center.

STEP 2: Next, she blow-dried the hair with a round brush to create a very smooth look.

STEP 3:  Using a 1 ¼ flat iron, Mara waved Rebecca’s hair from ear height down and sprayed L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold all over.

STEP 4: With a soft brush, Mara very gently brushed through the waves and sprayed again with L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold to hold the look in place.

STEP 5: Next, Mara modernized the look by tucking Rebecca’s hair behind her ears.  She sprayed Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss High Shine Glossing Mist all over the hair for added shine.
STEP 6: The look was finished by running the end of a comb dipped in Advanced Hairstyle Lock It Extreme Style Gel over strands to tame any flyaways.

Taraji P. Henson (MAKEUP)

MAKEUP ARTIST: Ashunta Sheriff for L’Oréal Paris

INSPIRATION: “Alexander Wang created an edgy princess gown for an edgy rock star actress. The dress called for smoky eyes with lots of liner and sexy lashes.”

STEP 1: Ashunta started with L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Eye Renewal Eye Cream to ensure makeup didn’t cake around the eyes. She prepped the face with L’Oréal Paris RevitaLift Triple Power Deep-Acting Moisturizer, a rich emollient moisturizer to combat dry skin.

STEP 2:  To prime skin, Ashunta applied L’Oréal Paris RevitaLift Miracle Blur Oil-Free to Taraji’s face so complexion appeared smoother and virtually flawless.

STEP 3: Next, she used L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in C7, which blended seamlessly to match Taraji’s tone, providing a flawless canvas. She then corrected minor imperfections with L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Concealer.

STEP 4: To create a perfect, illuminated glow, Ashunta applied L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator with a makeup sponge patting into the high points of the face like cheekbones, bridge of the nose, brow bones and bow of lips.

STEP 5: Ashunta created the smoldering eye look by using L’Oréal Paris Silkissime Eyeliner by Infallible in Black on lids and lashlines. She blended out the pencil on the lid, which acted as a base and locked in subsequent eyeshadow application.

STEP 6: Using her finger tips, Ashunta blended L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Smoldering Plum liberally all over the lids, and layered in darker mahogany and cocoa colors from L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude up to the crease and accented along lower lashline.

STEP 7: Ashunta then primed and coated upper and lower lashes with NEW L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara.

STEP 8: Ashunta finished Taraji’s eyes by tracing L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Liner into a thin, but bold, cat-wing that gave the look a slightly mod feel.

STEP 9: For cheeks, Ashunta used L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Colour Lift Blush in Pink Lift.

STEP 10: L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lipcolour in Brazil Nut and Golden Splendor created the perfect nude lip for Taraji’s darker skin tone.

STEP 11: To finish and set the look for the long, hot evening, Ashunta spritzed L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray all over the face.

Gina Rodriguez (MAKEUP)

MAKEUP ARTIST: Carissa Ferreri for L’Oréal Paris
Inspiration: “The makeup look was mainly inspired by Gina’s dress -- it was more dramatic from anything she’s ever worn.”

STEP 1: Carissa prepped and imparted a glowing base to the face using L’Oréal Paris Youth Code All-In-One Skin Illuminator and to brighten eyes and diminish dark circles, she applied L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Eye Renewal Eye Cream.

STEP 2:  To achieve Gina’s smoky eye, Carissa used mainly grey and charcoal matte tones from L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude in 01. She accentuated the outer corner of the eye using the charcoal shimmer shadow.

STEP 3: For a natural-looking brow, Carissa penciled in light strokes of L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Designer.

STEP 4: To create full, dramatic lashes, Carissa turned to NEW L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara, and then lined the inner corner of the eyelids with NEW L’Oréal Paris Superstar Liner.

STEP 5: Carissa mixed L’Oréal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup - shades 106 and 107 - in with a touch of L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in N201 Rose to enhance Gina’s skin with a beautiful glow. Using a mini sponge applicator she blended L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator in C302 Ice on top of the cheek bone for added luminosity.

STEP 6: Last, she applied L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Le Matte Lip Pen in 102 She’s So Matte and a touch of L’Oréal Paris Pro Last Lipcolor for a long-lasting lip.

2015 Academy Awards Red Carpet: Get The Look

In a TME exclusive, we’ve got the how-tos from the 87th Annual Academy Awards held Sunday, February 22, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. From Julianne Moore, Zoe Saldana, Emma Stone, Jennifer Lopez, Naomi Watts, Jennifer Aniston, and Heidi Klum L’Oréal Paris shared these leading ladies leading looks!

Julianne Moore (Makeup)
Makeup Artist: Elaine Offers for L’Oréal Paris
Inspiration: “The inspiration for Julianne’s look was classic, glamorous beauty. Julianne loves lilacs and taupes on her eyes, and a rich lip served as bold contrast against her white Chanel dress.”

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. Elaine prepped skin with L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Serum and L’Oréal Paris RevitaLift Miracle Blur for a smooth base
  2. Then she used L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation as a base to create a flawless all-over complexion
  3. Next, she blended L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Blush in Soft Pink – a versatile, youthful hue – high up onto the apples of the cheeks
  4. Elaine turned to taupe and light lilac hues within the New L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude (Available April 2015) to intensify Julianne’s eyes to perfection
  5. Next, she applied L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Intenza Mascara for bold, well-defined lashes
  6. Elaine used L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Lip Colour in Raisin Revival, a deep purple-brown shade topped off with the pro-seal balm on the opposite end
  7. L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray sealed the radiant look in for a Red Carpet Ready finish
  8. Elaine sent Julianne off with a L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Powder compact for touch ups sparingly and as needed throughout the night
Julianne Moore (Nails)
Nail Artist: Tom Bachik, L’Oréal Paris Global Nail Artist
Inspiration: “We wanted to create a clean, simple nail look that really played up the beaded adornment accents of Julianne’s gorgeous gown.”

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. Tom filed a short, natural nail shape to elongate hands for an ultra-feminine look
  2. Next, he added 1 coat of a sheer, ballet slipper pink L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in Wishful Pinking
  3. Then, for an iridescent shimmer he applied a coat of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in Charmed, I’m Sure
  4. Tom massaged L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Glow Renewal Facial Oil all over nails and cuticles to keep them healthy-looking and hydrated

Naomi Watts (Makeup)
Makeup Artist: Pati Dubroff for L’Oréal Paris
Inspiration: Pati was inspired by the shine and graphic panels on the graphic icy sea foam and black Armani Prive dress. The look maintained Naomi’s softness, but at same time had a bit of edge. The focus was kept on the outer corner of the eyes and slightly mattified, letting the dress stand out.

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. Pati wanted the skin to have a bit of a matte quality, without looking flat so she prepped with L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother and then used L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in Golden Beige focusing on the center of the face, and blending well with a damp beauty blender sponge
  2. Pati blended a touch of L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Color Lift Blush in Rose Gold Lift on the apples of cheeks
  3. The strength of the look is in the brow and eye. For the brows, Pati added definition using L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Designer in Blonde
  4. For the eyes, Pati kept the lids the same tone as Naomi’s skin with a slight shimmer from New L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude Smokey (shade 1+8) (Available April 2015) and defined the outer corners using L’Oréal Paris Infallible Smokissime Powder Eyeliner Pen in both Taupe Smoke and Black giving a graphic edge to the eyes
  5. The look has a heavy lash focus so Pati piled on L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Intenza Mascara in Black focusing on the outer corners
  6. Pati went for L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Color in Violet Parfait on the lip, a shade she likened to a bruised plum

Jennifer Lopez (Makeup)
Makeup Artist: Mary Phillips for L’Oréal Paris
INSPIRATION: A departure from Jennifer’s Golden Globes look, Mary’s inspiration was drawn mostly by Jennifer’s sparkly, ethereal Elie Saab gown. As such, she stuck to a monochromatic palette of warm peaches and diffused bronzes around her eye, paired with a cool toned pink lip that had glacier blue undertones. The moment felt very royal – almost princess-like.

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. Mary prepped the skin with L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Moisture Blur
  2. Next, she applied L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in Classic Tan followed by Armani Fluid Sheer #13 as a highlighter
  3. She enhanced brows using L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Designer in Blonde
  4. To create the eye look, Mary turned to New L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude (Available in April) followed by accents of L’Oréal Paris Infallible Smokissime Powder Eyeliner Pen in Taupe Smoke
  5. She then curled lashes and applied multiple coats of L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Miss Manga Black Angel Mascara
  6. To complete the look, she used L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Color in Timeless Rose on the lips

Jennifer Lopez (Hair)
Hair Stylist: Lorenzo Martin for L’Oréal Paris
Inspiration: “Jennifer’s dress was truly the inspiration behind her hair tonight. I wanted to keep Jennifer’s big, beautiful dress the star of the show, and so her hairstyle was simple and chic. The sleek high ponytail was also great for the rainy weather!”

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. To begin, wash hair with L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight Shampoo, Pre-Conditioner, and Conditioner
  2. After washing, massage L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight Straight Perfecting Balm all over wet hair to fight against humidity
  3. Blow dry hair with a round brush
  4. Set hair in big, hot rollers to create volume. Once set, remove the rollers and brush through the hair spraying on L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Sleek It Strand Smoother Serum Spray
  5. Gather hair into a high ponytail and secure with an elastic with metal hooks on each end to keep the ponytail high
  6. Finish the look off with L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Lock It Weather Control Hairspray to combat the rainy weather
  7. AT-HOME HAIR COLOR RECOMMENDATION: Get Jennifer’s gorgeous highlighted hair at-home with L’Oréal Paris Superior Preference Glam Lights in GL50
Jennifer Lopez (Nails)
Nail Artist: Tom Bachik, L’Oréal Paris Global Nail Artist
Inspiration: “Tonight it was all about the dress. The gown was the star of the show and we wanted to create a monochromatic, tonal nail look that would enhance the overall look.”

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. Tom added a little length to nails with clear tips to create a 1930s almond shape
  2. For a subtle, sparkly contrast, he applied L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in I Like It Chunky underneath the nail, adding a pop of rose gold
  3. Last, he added 2 coats of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in Mauveless and completed the look with L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Glow Renewal Facial Oil for shine and moisture

Hair Stylist: Mara Roszak, L’Oreal Paris Celebrity Hairstylist
Inspiration: “Zoe wore a beautifully sexy Versace gown so I wanted her hair to have a sexy, Sophia Loren and Italian-inspired feel”

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. To begin, use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner like L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Power Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner
  2. Mara applied L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It High Lift Creation Spray and roughdried it into the hair, making a defined, center part
  3. Once hair was dry, she used a 1’’ ghd Curve Classic Curl Iron, taking random sections of the hair and wrapping it around the iron
  4. After curling, she brushed out the hair with her hands to loosen the waves. She wanted it to have a natural, smoothed-out texture. She then sprayed L’Oreal Paris Elnett Extra Hold Hairspray all over
  5. She then started playing with the shape of the hair, pulling pieces back section-by-section; first gathered the top half of the hair using bobby pins, then moved onto the bottom sections wrapping them up and pinning it up. She let some pieces naturally fall down to soften the look
  6. She finished with L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Lock It Weather Control Hairspray
Zoe Saldana (Makeup)
Makeup Artist: Vera Steimberg for L’Oreal Paris
Inspiration: “Mara, Zoe’s hairstylist, and I were both going for a Sophia Loren and Italian-inspired look to match her Versace dress. She has such a gorgeous, new-mom glow so I wanted her skin to stand out and focus more on the eyes balanced out with a soft lip color.”

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. Vera prepped skin with L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Texture Perfector Day/Night Cream
  2. She then applied L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in Classic Tan on cheekbones and Crème Cafe for shading
  3. She used the New L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude (Available April 2015), using the lighter colors from the palette in the middle of the eye and going darker towards the corners of the eye
  4. Vera finished off the eyes with a few coats of L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Original Mascara in Black
  5. Since the eye was more of a dramatic look, Vera wanted a softer lip and used L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Lipcolor in Timeless Rose
  6. She set everything with Infallible® Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray to ensure the look stayed fresh throughout the night

Emma Stone (Hair)
Hair Stylist: Mara Roszak, L’Oreal Paris Celebrity Hairstylist
Inspiration: “Emma wore a gorgeous, lacey Elie Saab gown in a beautiful green color. The color against her red hair reminded me of a beautiful, watercolor painting – very whimsical and 1930’s so I wanted the hair to have a similar feel.”

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. Wash hair with a smoothing shampoo and conditioner like Advanced Haircare Smooth Intense Polishing Shampoo and Conditioner
  2. Mara applied L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Curve It Elastic Curl Mousse and then roughdried the hair
  3. This style was all about the wave so she then went into the hair and created waves all over using a 1’’ ghd Curve Classic Curl Iron
  4. After curling the hair, Mara pin-curled the hair and let it set for a minute. I then took out the pin-curls and shaped the hair into an “S” wave with a comb and my hands, really focusing on the front of the hair
  5. Once the front was perfect, she then pinned up the rest of the hair into a loose, soft chignon.
  6. Mara sprayed L’Oreal Paris Elnett Extra Hold Hairspray all over the hair to set the style and then gave it a quick spray with L’Oreal Paris Advance Hairstyle Lock It Weather Control Hairspray to help with the rain

Jennifer Aniston  (Nails)
Nail Artist: Tom Bachik, L’Oréal Paris Global Nail Artist
Inspiration: “Jennifer and I were inspired by finding the perfect pink nail polish. We wanted a fresh, clean shade with a soft peach undertone. ”

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. Tom started by buffing and filing nails to a shorter, square shape
  2. Next, he applied 1 coat of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in Walk on the Beach
  3. He let nails dry, and then added 1 coat of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in Sweet Nothings for a slightly translucent, fine porcelain look
  4. Tom completed the nail look by applying L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Glow Renewal Facial Oil on both nails and cuticles

Heidi Klum (Nails) **Pre-Oscar’s party on Feb. 21, 2015
Nail Artist: Tom Bachik, L’Oréal Paris Global Nail Artist
Inspiration: “The inspiration behind Heidi’s nails was a soft, 1970s glam look. We layered different shades of pinks to create a perfect custom shade for the evening.”

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. Tom shaped nails to a classic, oval, elongated shape
  2. Next, he applied 1 coat of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in How Romantic
  3. Then, he layered 1 coat of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in Wishful Pinking
  4. Tom let nails dry and then moisturized with L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Glow Renewal Facial Oil

Emmy Get The Look Round-Up From L’Oréal

Television’s best gathered at the Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles on August 25th for the 66th Primetime Emmys and TME has the inside scoop on how to create looks for the hottest ladies on TV! Red on to get the look for Taylor Schilling, Lena Headey, Kate Mara, Michelle Dockery, Heidi Klum, and Zooey Deschanel!

Taylor Schilling (Hair Color and Hair Style)

Hairstylist: Richard Marin for L’Oréal Paris - Inspiration: “Taylor’s hair look for the Emmy’s was a 60’s inspired updo.”

How-To:

  1. To begin, use L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It Volume Inject Mousse, working product onto the roots of hair for optimal volume.
  2. Blow dry hair with the Remington T-Studio Silk Ceramic Dryer to dramatically reduce frizz.
  3. Spray dry hair with L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Sleek It Iron Straight HeatSpray and run the Remington Frizz Therapy Flat Iron over the entire head to lock in a set. This makes hair stay together and not become too wispy.
  4. Pull hair back into a low ponytail, retaining volume at the crown of the head.
  5. Secure the pony with a band and twist to pin into a messy chignon.
  6. Pull some pieces of hair around one side of the face and spray a light mist of L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray to keep the look loose, while ensuring that it stays in place.
Hair Colorist: Kari Hill for L’Oréal Paris - Inspiration: “Taylor’s specific request for bright, blonde contrasting highlights was an easy complement to her realistic, approachable, and sweet demeanor. Ultimately, her final color tone was inspired by her dress.  When she showed me the design and color of the gown, I considered the most flattering tone to match her look, skin tone, and red-carpet glamour.”

How-To:

  1. L’Oréal Paris Superior Preference LB01 Ultra-Light Ash Blonde is a great option if the desired look is all-over color in a shade that’s a cool, bright tone, like Taylor’s. To achieve this outcome, do not veer more than 2 shades from your desired tone and level.  Darker blondes should instead opt for L’Oréal Paris Superior Preference 9A in Light Ash Blonde.
  2. L’Oréal Paris Superior Preference Ombré Touch OT6 in light blonde to light brown hair is a perfect way to alter a color look with refined, beautiful accents to the tips of the hair.
  3. Always maintain color with a color protecting shampoo and conditioning regimen – like L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Color Vibrancy. The two, in addition to treatment products, instantly nourish and help shield color from fading.

Kate Mara (Hair)

Hairstylist: Mara Roszak for L’Oréal Paris – Inspiration: “Kate wore a striking J Mendel dress – its whimsical feel had edgy detail, a perfect combination of rough and soft.  Her hair was all about shape and texture; I cut it shorter creating a choppy, slightly A-line look.”

How-To:

  1. To create texture, spray L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray and rough-dry for volume at the roots.
  2. Loosely create a wave with a 1.5” curling iron.
  3. Spray hair liberally using L’Oréal Paris Elnett Extra Strong Hold Satin Hairspray.
  4. For added texture and separation, dab L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Hyper Fix Putty onto fingertips and piece out the ends.

Lena Headey (Makeup)

Makeup Artist: Lisa Storey for L’Oréal Paris – Inspiration: “Lena wore a gorgeous architectural dress and has a great short haircut right now, so I decided to go for a modern Audrey Hepburn look with a bit of an edge.”

How-To:

  1. Prep the skin using L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Moisture Blur.
  2. Next, blend L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation across the face using a darker hue to add a bit of contour around the cheekbones.
  3. Bring a fresh, youthful look to the face by adding L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Blush in Soft Pink Rose and L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Concealer in Light-Clair as a highlighter.  Blend concealer across the under eye, brown bone and cheekbone for a natural highlight.
  4. Line the eyes using L’Oréal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in black.  Create a thicker line and extend it slightly, but not so far as a traditional cat-eye.
  5. Lashes were key to the standout eye look, and L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara in Blackest Black provided just the right amount volume and rich color.
  6. Fill in brows very naturally and without looking too overly styled using L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Sculptor in Brunette.
  7. The darker hues of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Dual Effects Eye Shadow in Perpetual Nude create dimension on the eyelids, while the lightest golden shade serve as highlighter for the inner corners.
  8. As a finishing touch, use L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Balm Pop in Electric Pink. It will instantly make any look appear youthful and not too “serious”!

Heidi Klum (Nails)

Nail Artist: Tom Bachik for L’Oréal Paris – Inspiration: “Heidi’s dress is a gorgeous Chantilly red- orange color. It’s very bright and summery, yet clean. I wanted her nail look to be fresh, so that her dress stood out as the pop of color. The nail look is simple, classic and glamorous.”

How-To:

  1. Shape nails using a file, creating a natural rounded look.  This elongates the hand, making it ultra-feminine.
  2. Apply a summer, fresh pink nude shade like L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in Doutzen’s Nude.
  3. Top with L’Oreal Paris Top of the Line Top Coat for a polished, fresh finish.
  4. Massage L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Glow Renewal Facial Oil all over nails and cuticles to keep them healthy-looking and hydrated.

Zooey Deschanel (Nails)

Nail Artist: Tom Bachik for L’Oréal Paris – Inspiration: “Zooey is sporting a super-hot pink dress, so I wanted to create a simple and classic look, playing up the tone-on-tone style. We wanted her nails to be clean and traditional, but with a fun, modern twist. I loved the idea of a reverse moon look on her. It’s architectural, straight and very sleek.”

How-To:

  1. Polish each nail using a baby pink, such as L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in I Pink I’m in Love.
  2. Place electric pink nail art tape about 3/4 of the way down the nail in a horizontal line.
  3. Apply L’Oreal Paris Top of the Line Top Coat to seal in the look.
  4. Add a few drops of L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Glow Renewal Facial Oil directly onto nails and cuticles for extra miniaturization and shine.

Michelle Dockery (Hair)

Hairstylist: Mara Roszak for L’Oréal Paris – Inspiration: “Michelle wore a one of a kind gown by a Brooklyn designer.  I chose to highlight the classic ease of the dress by creating a beautiful, effortless bun parted in the middle for a cool, modern feel.”

How-To:

  1. Start by applying L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Blow Out HeatSpray all over the hair for soft volume.  Then, blow the hair out using a boar bristle round brush, parting down the center once dry.
  2. Spray L’Oréal Paris Elnett Strong Hold Satin Hairspray all over to add hold and texture.
  3. Section the front of the hair – in front of the ear, forward, and off on both sides.  Then, pull the back into a low ponytail securing tightly with an elastic. Take one side at a time to the back, wrapping the ends around the ponytail elastic.
  4. Softly tease the ponytail at the base (closest to the elastic), smooth over the top and wrap into a bun at the nape of the neck, crisscrossing bobby pins to secure.  For added hold, spray hairspray directly onto the pins before placing them in the hair.
  5. Allow a few pieces around the face to fall out for a soft, whimsical look.
  6. Finish off with L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Weather Control Hairspray for a strong hold that lasts through the night.
