Halston Sage and Cara Delevingne ‘Paper Towns’ Premiere GLT

At the July 21 “Paper Towns” New York premiere at AMC Loews Lincoln Square, Halston Sage and Cara Delevingne set the Red Carpet on fire with their glammed up looks. Halston choose to wear head-to-toe Miu Miu with jewelry by Melinda Maria and Melissa Kaye, while Cara sparkled in a Saint Laurent long-sleeved cutout mini dress.

For Halston Sage’s look, it was none other than Celebrity hair guru and bohemian braid brainchild, Sarah Potempa who got Halston's hair Red Carpet Ready. Sarah created a chic, center part and loose waves that we can all nail at home.

Halston Sage “Paper Towns” Premiere Get The Look:

Step 1: Create a center part on damp hair

Step 2: Add Aussie's Mousse + Leave In Conditioner and Blow Dry smooth with the SARAHPOTEMPA On Set Styling Brush

Step 3:  Take large 3" sections (starting at the bottom) and secure the rest of the hair up with a SARAHPOTEMPA Darby Clip. Hold the SARAHPOTEMPA Beachwaver S1 horizontal, clamp ends of hair and automatically rotate under by pressing the arrow button down. Brush out and secure up in rolls with silver clips.

Step 4: Spray Aussie's Sprunch Hairspray on the SARAHPOTEMPA On Set Styling Brush and smooth out all the hair. Tuck hair on both sides, spray flyaways down, and roll can over to lock in the shine

L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Hairstylist, Mara Roszak worked with Cara Delevingne in prep for the evening’s NYC Paper Towns premiere.  “The style was all about effortless, barely there waves, but with an edge. There was a detailed element to the look that still had a casual vibe to it – a fresh take on a braid. Cara’s gown and makeup were so glamorous, so the hair gave it that cool-girl finish,” shared Mara.

Cara Delevingne “Paper Towns” Premiere Get The Look:

Step 1: Begin by spraying L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Txt It Tousle Wave Spray all over the hair

Step 2: Curl hair in sections at a horizontal angle to create a natural wave effect -- this can also be done using a flat iron if you don’t have a curling iron on hand

Step 3: Work a combination of L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It High Lift Creation Spray and Blow Dry It Longwear Spray into the root and body of the hair for added volume and dry texture

Step 4: Next, very gracefully pull back hair and begin a low braid about one inch below the nape of the neck, allowing a few strands to fall at the front; secure with a clear elastic, wrapping a strand around the base for a seamless finish

Step 5: Lock in the style by misting all over with L’Oréal Paris Elnett Hairspray; for added shine, spritz L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss High-Shine Glossing Mist onto strands

So, TME was rather fortunate to get the inside scoop on Mara’s favorite fall hair looks with the major bonus on how to achieve them!

Fall Favorite First Look: The Low Sleek Ponytail
  1. Create a clean part when hair is damp, and then apply L’Oreal Paris Oleo Therapy Perfecting Oil Essence and blow dry smooth.
  2. For an extra sleek look, touch up with a flat iron, focusing on the top layers.
  3. Separate the front sections (in front of the ear) on both sides and create a low ponytail, securing tightly with an elastic in the back.
  4. Take one of the front sections and gently brush through, spraying with L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Strong Hold before connecting it with the back and wrapping ends around the elastic and pinning in place.
  5. Do the same to the other side.
  6. Spray the ponytail with hair spray then wrap tightly into a low bun at the nape of the neck, secure with bobby pins by crisscrossing the pins.
  7. To finish the look, spray L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Strand-Smoother Serum Spray all over for extra shine.
  8. If any rogue hairs need taming, spray hairspray on your fingertip and run gently along hairs, hold finger down for five seconds and release.

Fall Favorite Second Look: The Clean Part + Waves
  1. After shampooing and then conditioning with a hydrating treatment like L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm, part hair, either deep to the side or in the middle and rough dry.
  2. Blow-dry only the front sections with a round brush for a smoother finish.
  3. With a 1 ¼ " or 1 ½ " curling iron (depending on length of hair, take random sections and curl, creating very loose movement.
  4. In the front, wave away from the face then rotate sections in different directions.
  5. Spray hair lightly with L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Fine Control Hairspray to keep look in place.
