L’Oreal Sells Em Back To Michelle Phan

Michelle Phan has parted ways with L’Oréal, buying back her own beauty line from the company. Em Cosmetics has been sold to Ipsy – a company co-founded by Phan herself. Phan first partnered with L’Oreal as the first official video makeup artist for Lancôme and launched her cosmetics range in 2013. At the launch, Phan referred to Em Michelle Phan as “a dream come true”.

At its launch, Em was expected to be a huge success, due in large part to Phan’s 8 million YouTube followers. WWD reported that the reason for the sale was because L’Oreal felt the range was too expensive for the star’s young following with an average price of $24 per item.

Last month, it was reported that Ipsy had secured $100m in funding. The company currently offers a beauty subscription services – GlamBags – with 1.5 million members. A representative from Ipsy commented on its purchase of Em Michelle Phan: "Ipsy has a great relationship with both L’Oréal and Michelle. We are happy we can support Michelle’s desire to bring em back to her community and look forward to keeping you updated with brand developments in the future."

Endemol Beyond USA Strikes Exclusive Deal With Michelle Phan

Endemol Beyond USA announced today, May 12, that he premium channel network has aligned forces with acclaimed digital pioneer Michelle Phan and her multi-channel network, For All Women Network (FAWN), to build a premium, female-focused lifestyle network. The news marks one of the biggest global partnerships between a talent that originated from the YouTube platform and a major media company.

Cueing in her 7 years of experience, Phan will spearhead the development of original content for both the digital and broadcast spaces, as well as mentor new talent for the next generation of multi-platform trailblazers.

FAWN (For All Women Network), founded by Michelle Phan, is a global media company with the mission to empower female audiences around the world. Michelle's expertise in the digital world and FAWN's engaged community of 7.2 million subscribers has formed the foundation for this multi-channel network. This venture provides a platform for Michelle, separate from her own brand, to develop new content creators across various lifestyle categories.

Endemol Beyond, affiliated with Endemol North America -- producers behind some of the most successful worldwide hits on television, including "Big Brother" (CBS), "Steve Harvey" (NBCU), "Wipeout" (ABC) and scripted series "Hell on Wheels" (AMC) is a premium channel, which launched at the end of last year. Endemol North America announced an exclusive overall deal with global superstar Pitbull in January, to develop and produce original content for both television and the digital space.  Endemol Beyond USA is an extension of Endemol Beyond, a new global venture that is a premium network of international and local channels across such platforms as YouTube, Yahoo, AOL, MSN and Dailymotion.
