2016 Oscars Beauty Looks

Rooney Mara

The 88th Annual Academy Awards were held last night, Feb. 28 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and The Makeup Examiner Team has all of the beauty looks for your favorites stars!

Inspiration: “I wanted to create a statement updo that had high polish with great architectural edge that mimicked the lines of the Givenchy dress.”Adir Abergel for Rooney Mara

Get the Look:
  • I started by using Pai Shau Bipasic Infusion from roots to ends on dry hair to create a lustrous foundation
  • I then flat ironed the hair completely straight so that it had the fluidity I need to create the sleek updo
  • Then I sectioned the hair from temple to temple to create the first severe parting and pulled into a high ponytail.
  • I created my second severe parting just below the top ponytail and made another ponytail from mid ear to mid ear that hid the first ponytail.
  • I sprayed the entire head with hair spray to eliminate any frayed ends or layers.
  • Then I flipped the ponytail up and tucked the ends into the second section of the ponytail
  • Finally I took the last section of hair and wrapped it around an elastic band, and secured into a low chignon and pinned it into place.

Brie Larson

Inspiration: “Brie wore a gorgeous, royal blue, custom Gucci dress. I wanted her hair to have a celestial but fresh look to complement the dress. We did a modern half-up, half-down style.”  -Mara Roszak, L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Stylist

Get The Look:
  • Mara started by applying L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Transforming Oil-in-Cream to Brie’s damp hair.
  • She parted the hair in the center and then blow dried with a round brush.
  • Once dry, she used a ghd platinum styler to touch up the hair and help with any frizz or flyaways while keeping it healthy and shiny, especially with the humid weather.
  • She then sprayed L’Oréal Paris Elnett Hairspray all over the hair.
  • Then, using a ghd curve Classic Curl Iron 1”, she created soft, loose waves throughout the hair.
  • Once done waving, she brushed the hair out with a boar bristle brush and applied L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Lustrous Oil Serum on the middle and ends of hair for extra shine.
  • Next, she took the front pieces of hair by the hairline on both sides and twisted them, bringing them to the back of hair. She pinned in place and then put a piece of fabric that matched Brie’s belt on top of the pins, wrapping the extra hair that was hanging around the fabric.
  • Lastly, she sprayed L’Oréal Paris Elnett Hairspray all over the hair for hold and L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss High Shine Glossing Mist for extra shine.

Julianne Moore

Inspiration: “The dress is a fantastic, architectural halter with lace and dark jewel detailing - I've never seen anything like it so am excited with how the makeup look complements it.” -Elaine Offers for L’Oréal Paris

Get The Look:
  • Elaine started by prepping skin with Revitalift Daily Volumizing Moisturizer and Revitalift Miracle Blur.
  • Overtop foundation; she blended Visible Lift CC Eye Concealer as a spot-concealer, which left a fresh finish in its wake.
  • For warm contour, subtle shape and definition, Elaine opted for Infallible Pro Contour Palette all over the face.
  • Before applying Visible Lift Blur Blush in Soft Pink to cheeks, Elaine worked True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in Golden onto the cheekbones and bridge of nose for “lit from within” results.
  • Elaine turned to Colour Riche Eye Shadow in Paris Beach to neutralize and highlight the browbone. On lids, she blended a combination of shade Quartz Fume and Infallible 24H Eye Shadow in Eternal Black, pressing both in with a dampened brush and resulting in a shine that played into Julianne’s dress.
  • Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Highlighter was used in waterlines to sharpen up natural eye shape, and lashlines were accented with brown liner.
  • Elaine curled lashes, applied a few coats of primer and topped off with Voluminous Superstar Mascara.
  • After using a lip stain for shape, Elaine topped off with Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Lipstick in Jennifer’s Nude for neutral, nude coverage.

Naomi Watts
I
nspiration: “Naomi wore this beautiful, art-deco, sequined dress. We wanted her hair to have a classic 1930s Hollywood vibe with a modern twist.” -Cervando for L’Oréal Paris

Get The Look:
  • Cervando started by applying L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It Volume Inject Mousse to damp hair, combing through so the product is evenly distributed throughout the hair.
  • He then used L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Sleek It Frizz Vanisher Cream on the ends of hair and parted hair to the side.
  • Next, Cervando rough dried hair about 90% of the way to create a lot of volume, texture and density.
  • After blow drying, he used a small 1 inch round boar bristle brush and dried hair section by section, making sure to blow hair back and away from the face.
  • Once done with drying the front sections, Cervando rolled hair into 3 Velcro rollers for added body, then let hair set for 20 minutes.
  • After removing the rollers, he combed through hair using a wire brush, blending hair from top to bottom.
  • Next, he used a flat iron to wave the hair and locked in the look with L’Oréal Paris Elnett Hairspray.

Makeup: Hung Vanngo for L’Oréal Paris

Inspiration: “Tonight, the inspiration for Naomi’s look was a flashback to the 1970’s with a smoky eye and vibrant lip. We opted for a grey, slate smoky eye and a red, velvety lip.”

Get The Look:
  • Hung started by prepping Naomi’s skin with Revitalift Triple Power Serum and Revitalift Triple Power Moisturizer all over.
  • He then focused on Naomi’s base. First, Hung used True Match Concealer to even out Naomi’s skin tone. He then applied True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation to give Naomi’s skin a fresh, dewy finish.
  • Hung then used the Infallible Pro-Contour Kit to contour Naomi’s cheeks. To add a soft pop of color on top, he used True Match Blush in Baby Blossom.
  • He then groomed her eyebrows with Brow Stylist Prep & Shape Pro Kit.
  • For Naomi’s eyes, Hung used Infallible Never Fail Eyeliner in Slate on her upper lash line. He blended the eyeliner on the lash line in an outward motion.
  • To continue the grey smoky eye, he applied Colour Riche Dual Effects Eye Shadow in Incredible Grey, using only the grey and silver shades in the palette.
  • Next, he finished off the eye look with Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara; launching March/April) on Naomi’s lashes.
  • To complete the look, Hung gave Naomi a bright red lip with Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Rouge Envy.

Rachel McAdams

Inspiration: “Rachel’s dress is a deep forest green that is super classic and elegant. For the nails, we wanted to give her an elegant, glamorous look. We went with a full coverage nude to complement her green dress, as well as her look for the after parties.” -Tom Bachik, L’Oréal Paris Global Nail Artist

Get The Look:
  • Rachel’s nail look featured a custom blended color. You can recreate this look at home using Infallible Pro-Last Nail Color in both Passionate Petal and Forever Mink.
  • To start, apply one thin coat of Passionate Petal as the base color on the nail. This gives the nail a pretty pink undertone.
  • Next, apply a thin coat of Forever Mink on top of the dry, pink nail. The end result is a full coverage nude, with a modern twist and pop of pink.
  • Then, apply the clear topcoat from Infallible Pro-Last Nail Color to give the nail amplified color and shine.
  • To finish the look, apply a couple drops of Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Facial Oil to rehydrate the cuticles and bring an overall glow.

Heidi Klum ... Nails

Inspiration: “Heidi’s dress for the carpet is a beautiful purple color. We opted for a classic, full coverage nude, channeling the 1960’s Bridget Bardot era. The nude that we chose was a tonal, skin tone nude." -Tom Bachik, L’Oréal Paris Global Nail Artist

Get The Look:
  • Heidi’s nail look featured a custom blended color. You can recreate this look at home using Color Riche Nail Color in Walk on the Beach.
  • Apply two coats of Walk on the Beach to the nail to give a full coverage, nude look.
  • Next, apply Colour Riche Nail Color in Top of the Line to seal in shine.
  • To finish the look, apply a couple drops of Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Facial Oil to rehydrate the cuticles and bring an overall glow.

Reese Witherspoon stunned at last night’s Academy Awards in a gorgeous deep blue fit-and-flare gown, which inspired Nexxus New York Salon Care Celebrity Stylist Lona Vigi to create a sleek straight hairstyle. "We decided a straight hair tucked back behind the ears complimented the elegant neckline of the dress perfectly to create a classically glamorous look," said Lona Vigi.

Get The Look:
  • On Reese's wet hair, I applied a small amount of Nexxus New York Salon Care Exxtra Gel and Oil Infinite Nourishing Oil to create a sleek and sophisticated style that complemented her beautiful dress.
  • I blow dried her hair with a ghd air hairdryer and used a ghd paddle brush to keep the look sleek and smooth.
  • Once dry, I ran a ghd platinum styler throughout her hair. I love this flat iron because it heats to the optimal 365 degrees so I know I’m not damaging my clients’ hair.
  • Then, I applied a small amount of Nexxus New York Salon Care Oil Infinite Nourishing Oil to create a shiny and smooth finish to the final look.
  • To keep the hair back and in place, I sprayed Nexxus New York Salon Care Maxximum Hold Finishing Mist.

Chrissy Teigen walked last night's red carpet in a stunning, embellished Marchesa gown with her hair pulled back into an elaborate braided style created by Christian Wood using TRESemmé products. Christian created the undone, yet elegant look to juxtapose the glamorous, grown-up feel of the gown and keep Chrissy's overall look youthful, yet elegant.

Get The Look:
  • Prep hair with the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume reverse wash system, applying the Pre-Wash Conditioner, followed by the Beauty-Full Volume Shampoo to get a great base.
  • Apply the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Mousse throughout the lengths of the hair, leaving the ends out, and then apply the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Hair Maximizer to the ends for a soft, voluminous texture.
  • Using a round brush, blow dry the hair smooth with the Conair Infiniti Pro 3Q Hair Dryer for volume at the roots. PRO TIP: It's important to use a powerful dryer when blow drying the hair to help cut the drying time in half. The Conair Infiniti Pro 3Q Hair Dryer uses 70% more air pressure, allowing for much faster drying time.
  • Next, take the hair at the crown and pin it away. Take two one-inch sections on both sides of the ears and braid all the way down, while using the fingertips to rub the hair and create texture.
  • Release the hair at the crown and begin to braid down the middle and combined the 5 braids in one hand and secure with an elastic. Using a handful of bobby pins, secure braids for extra hold.
  • Take the lengths of the hair and create a larger braid and secure with an elastic, leaving out the ends at the bottom.
  • To complete the look, pull out loose pieces around the face for beautiful, airy volume. Rub the braids with fingertips to create a soft texture and spray the finished look with TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Hairspray, for a hold that lasts all night but isn't stiff or crunchy.

L’Oreal Paris At The 2015 Emmys Get The Looks

The 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were held last night, Sep. 20 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and Team TME has all the looks for your favorite stars. From Naomi to Heidi and Gina to Taraji we have the full beauty how-tos … straight from the source!

Heidi Klum (NAILS)

MANICURIST: L’Oréal Paris Global Manicurist, Tom Bachik

INSPIRATION: “Heidi wore a beautiful yellow Versace gown and to allow it to own center stage, we kept her nails simple. She’s gearing up for a trip overseas, so we shaped her nails shorter than they’ve been recently – Heidi loves having gorgeous long nails – and polished them cleanly so that the look would last not only for Emmys night, but wear nicely into the next week or two.”

STEP 1: First, Tom filed nails into a classic round shape.

STEP 2: He next applied two coats of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail, allowing her natural nail to be slightly visible through the sheer hue.

STEP 3: Tom advises maintaining a manicure using L’Oréal Paris Glow Renewal Facial Oil; a drop on each nail 1-2 daily will keep nail color looking fresh and shiny, and cuticles hydrated.

Sarah Hyland (HAIR)

HAIR STYLIST: Ryan Richman for L’Oréal Paris

INSPIRATION: “Sarah's Zac Posen gown was sleek and elegant.  I like to do the opposite with the hair so opted for a messy tousled wave. I've been doing Sarah's hair for about two years so often times the challenge is to do something I've never done before.  I have done her hair wavy countless times but never quite like this.  This texture shows off her amazing cut and color and accommodated the look well.”

STEP 1: First, Ryan prepped damp hair by spraying a generous amount of L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Blow Out HeatSpray, focusing at the root.  He used a wide-toothed comb to distribute product throughout the hair and create a deep side part.

STEP 2: Using a blow dryer and his fingers, Ryan roughdried the roots until halfway dry.  He picked up a medium boar bristle round brush to finish drying each section - being careful not to over-smooth the hair - for added volume and a little natural texture.

STEP 3: He next used a 1" flat iron on medium heat to create a tousled wave, spraying L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold on each section before curling, and holding the flat iron vertically facing down clamp a 1" section of hair at the base of the head.  In a fluid motion, he twisted the iron and pushed downward to create a loose beachy wave.  Ryan alternated directions of the wave as he moved throughout the hair for a beautiful tousled-texture result.

STEP 4:  To follow, Ryan rubbed a small amount of L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Hyper-Fix Putty into the palms of his hands.  Focusing at the root, he worked the product through the hair roughly with his hands.

STEP 5: Last, he used a bobby pin to secure the small side of the part behind Sarah’s ear and misted L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold all over the hair to lock in the style.

Naomi Watts (HAIR)

HAIRSTYLIST: CervandoMaldonado/The Wall Group for L’Oréal Paris

INSPIRATION: “The inspiration behind this look was to create a tousled, modern updo with a chic, 1960’s twist.”

STEP 1: To ensure high-shine, Cervando first washed hair with Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss Shampoo and Conditioner.

STEP 2: Next, onto damp hair, Cervando applied Advanced Hairstyle Curve It Elastic Curl Mousse to help create texture, as well as Advanced Hairstyle Boost It Blow Out Heat Spray both at the roots and combed through the rest of hair.

STEP 3: He then rough dried hair and put Velcro rollers in to add volume. After letting the rollers set, he blew out the hair straight and smooth.

STEP 4:  After dry, Cervando sprayed Advanced Hairstyle Txt It Tousle Waves Spray for all-over polish, texture and movement.

STEP 5:  Next, he dried the hair with a diffuser and created small waves with a flat iron.

STEP 6: Cervando then pulled Naomi’s hair back into a loose updo and twisted the hair, pinning as he twisted. He chose to leave Naomi’s bangs and a couple of face framing wisps out to accentuate her tousled look.

STEP 7: Once secured, Cervando lightly misted Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss High Shine Glossing Mist to lock in shine, then sprayed L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold to hold the look in place.

Naomi Watts (MAKEUP)

MAKEUP ARTIST: Monika Blunder for L’Oreal Paris

INSPIRATION: “Naomi wore a beautiful Dior dress that was soft with silver beading and a touch of floral. The look we created to complement the dress was very modern and fresh with a 60’s twist.”

STEP 1: Monika moisturized skin with L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Skin Illuminator and then started by applying L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup W-3 all over the face with a damp sponge and used concealer to spot conceal the areas that needed more coverage.

STEP 2: Then, Monika worked on the brows. She wanted to create strong brow since the rest of the makeup was very soft and fresh. She used L’Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Sculptor in Brunette to create a fuller brow by filling in gaps and adding definition.

STEP 3: For the eyes, she used the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude 2. She used shade #3 in the crease and shade #1 in the inner corners to highlight and open up the eyes.

STEP 4: Next, she used L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Eyeliner in Black Brown very close to the upper lash line to create more depth and to make the lash line appear fuller. She then used shade #6 from the eye palette to soften the line. To finish the eyes, she curled the lashes and applied three coats of L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara.

STEP 5: For the cheeks, she wanted something healthy and dewy-looking. She used L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift Blush in Soft Peach to create a soft flush on the apples of the cheeks. Then she highlighted the tops of the cheekbones and brow bones using the L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in Ice.

STEP 6: For lips, she created a soft, peachy pink by first applying L’Oreal Paris Le Matte Lip Colour in Game, Set, Matte and layered L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lipcolour in Fairest Nude to soften the color

STEP 7: To ensure the makeup lasted all day during one of the hottest days in LA, she finished the look with L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Set & Spray Makeup Extender Setting Spray.

Naomi Watts (NAILS)

MAKEUP ARTIST: TraceySutter/Cloutier Remix for L'Oréal Paris

INSPIRATION: “The overall inspiration for this look was to choose shades that stay true to Naomi's classic red carpet style and subtlety complement her natural beauty. The result was a timeless, barley-there manicure look.”

STEP 1: Tracey started with a dry manicure to ensure nail beds did not have too much moisture, which helps polish dry quicker.

STEP 2: Then, Tracey shaped Naomi’s nails a natural round and tended to cuticles, followed by a long soothing massage on both hands and feet.

STEP 3: Tracey and Naomi decided on L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Nailcolor in Passionate Petal together, as Naomi prefers a classy, sophisticated and very clean finish.  Tracey applied just one coat of color and topped it off with the hue’s corresponding topcoat for extra high-shine and protection against chips.

Rebecca Rittenhouse (HAIR)

HAIRSTYLIST: L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Hairstylist, Mara Roszak

INSPIRATION: “This look was inspired by the gorgeous dress Rebecca wore. Rebecca had an idea of what look she wanted and we both agreed that hair down was definitely the way to go, but we wanted to keep the hair off of her face. We went with a very clean and classic style with a modern center part.”

STEP 1: After washing with Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss Shampoo and Conditioner, Mara applied Advanced Hairstyle Blow Dry It Thermal Smoother Cream, all over and then parted Rebecca’s hair down the center.

STEP 2: Next, she blow-dried the hair with a round brush to create a very smooth look.

STEP 3:  Using a 1 ¼ flat iron, Mara waved Rebecca’s hair from ear height down and sprayed L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold all over.

STEP 4: With a soft brush, Mara very gently brushed through the waves and sprayed again with L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold to hold the look in place.

STEP 5: Next, Mara modernized the look by tucking Rebecca’s hair behind her ears.  She sprayed Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss High Shine Glossing Mist all over the hair for added shine.
STEP 6: The look was finished by running the end of a comb dipped in Advanced Hairstyle Lock It Extreme Style Gel over strands to tame any flyaways.

Taraji P. Henson (MAKEUP)

MAKEUP ARTIST: Ashunta Sheriff for L’Oréal Paris

INSPIRATION: “Alexander Wang created an edgy princess gown for an edgy rock star actress. The dress called for smoky eyes with lots of liner and sexy lashes.”

STEP 1: Ashunta started with L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Eye Renewal Eye Cream to ensure makeup didn’t cake around the eyes. She prepped the face with L’Oréal Paris RevitaLift Triple Power Deep-Acting Moisturizer, a rich emollient moisturizer to combat dry skin.

STEP 2:  To prime skin, Ashunta applied L’Oréal Paris RevitaLift Miracle Blur Oil-Free to Taraji’s face so complexion appeared smoother and virtually flawless.

STEP 3: Next, she used L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in C7, which blended seamlessly to match Taraji’s tone, providing a flawless canvas. She then corrected minor imperfections with L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Concealer.

STEP 4: To create a perfect, illuminated glow, Ashunta applied L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator with a makeup sponge patting into the high points of the face like cheekbones, bridge of the nose, brow bones and bow of lips.

STEP 5: Ashunta created the smoldering eye look by using L’Oréal Paris Silkissime Eyeliner by Infallible in Black on lids and lashlines. She blended out the pencil on the lid, which acted as a base and locked in subsequent eyeshadow application.

STEP 6: Using her finger tips, Ashunta blended L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Smoldering Plum liberally all over the lids, and layered in darker mahogany and cocoa colors from L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude up to the crease and accented along lower lashline.

STEP 7: Ashunta then primed and coated upper and lower lashes with NEW L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara.

STEP 8: Ashunta finished Taraji’s eyes by tracing L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Liner into a thin, but bold, cat-wing that gave the look a slightly mod feel.

STEP 9: For cheeks, Ashunta used L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Colour Lift Blush in Pink Lift.

STEP 10: L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lipcolour in Brazil Nut and Golden Splendor created the perfect nude lip for Taraji’s darker skin tone.

STEP 11: To finish and set the look for the long, hot evening, Ashunta spritzed L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray all over the face.

Gina Rodriguez (MAKEUP)

MAKEUP ARTIST: Carissa Ferreri for L’Oréal Paris
Inspiration: “The makeup look was mainly inspired by Gina’s dress -- it was more dramatic from anything she’s ever worn.”

STEP 1: Carissa prepped and imparted a glowing base to the face using L’Oréal Paris Youth Code All-In-One Skin Illuminator and to brighten eyes and diminish dark circles, she applied L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Eye Renewal Eye Cream.

STEP 2:  To achieve Gina’s smoky eye, Carissa used mainly grey and charcoal matte tones from L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude in 01. She accentuated the outer corner of the eye using the charcoal shimmer shadow.

STEP 3: For a natural-looking brow, Carissa penciled in light strokes of L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Designer.

STEP 4: To create full, dramatic lashes, Carissa turned to NEW L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara, and then lined the inner corner of the eyelids with NEW L’Oréal Paris Superstar Liner.

STEP 5: Carissa mixed L’Oréal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup - shades 106 and 107 - in with a touch of L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in N201 Rose to enhance Gina’s skin with a beautiful glow. Using a mini sponge applicator she blended L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator in C302 Ice on top of the cheek bone for added luminosity.

STEP 6: Last, she applied L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Le Matte Lip Pen in 102 She’s So Matte and a touch of L’Oréal Paris Pro Last Lipcolor for a long-lasting lip.

All products are available at L’Oreal Paris and mass retail outlets.

Follow Lona's tips below to re-create her red carpet-ready style:
  1. Start by washing hair with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner like Nexxus® New York Salon Care DIAMETRESS Rebalancing Shampoo and Restoring Conditioner that increases the diameter of each strand.
  2. On wet hair, create a center part and apply Nexxus® New York Salon Care EXXTRA GEL Superior Hold Sculpting Gel to define the hair around the face and sides for a sleek look.
  3. Blow dry the hair off the face and spray each section individually with Nexxus® New York Salon Care FRIZZ DEFY Finishing Mist all over to provide humidity-resistance and a natural hold.
  4. Curl the ends with a small barrel curling iron to hold and secure the style during this unusual Los Angeles rain.
  5. Brush out the ponytail and backcomb for fullness.  Finish by spraying with Nexxus® New York Salon Care MAXXIMUM Superior Hold Finishing Mist to provide a defined texture and firm hold that allows the style to stay in place.

Last night, Nexxus New York Salon Care Celebrity Stylist Lona Vigi worked with starlet Selena Gomez for the Vanity Fair Party. “We decided to go with a soft, sexy waved style to complement her black lace gown.”

Follow Lona's tips to re-create Selena's style:
  1. Start by washing and conditioning hair with Nexxus® New York Salon Care Oil Infinite Rebalancing Shampoo and Restoring Conditioner for smooth, luminous hair.
  2. To build texture apply Nexxus® New York Salon Care Mousse Plus Volumizing Mousse throughout damp hair for lasting volume that moves and blow dry in sections using a round brush.
  3. Once dry, wrap small sections around a large barrel curling iron until all of the hair has been set.
  4. Cool completely and then brush out the hair to create softness.
  5. Finish with Nexxus® New York Salon Care Comb Thru Touchable Hold Finishing Mist to provide movement and body to her style.

Tracey Cunningham shares her secrets for how she achieved her client's looks using Redken color!

1. Emma Stone: Tracey applied Redken Shades EQ Cream to add shine and achieve a brighter version of Emma's red color. Knowing that all eyes would be on the Birdman star, Tracey ensured Emma’s hair had maximum shine by finishing with Shades EQ Gloss, a no-ammonia, no-lift formula that acts as a glaze, color refresher and color corrector.

2. Naomi Watts: To brighten one of Hollywood’s favorite blondes, Tracey used Redken’s NEW Blonde Idol Blue Oil Lightening System oil lightener from the Professional Haircolor Collection (coming to salons this March) to create subtle babylights for added blonde dimension.

3. Dakota Johnson: Adding dimension and richness to the locks of the Fifty Shades of Grey star, Tracey used the no-ammonia Shades EQ Cream to create Dakota’s lowlights. Tracey finished with a glaze, Shades EQ Gloss, to provide an added healthy shine.
To continue to protect the haircolor after their service, Tracey recommends that her clients use Redken Color Extend Magnetics Sulfate-Free Haircare to seal in color and deliver maximum vibrancy and shine.
