Priyanka Get The Look Vanity Fair Oscars After Party

Inspiration: "Tonight Priyanka is wearing a dramatic black gown by ELIE SAAB with beadwork which I decided to mimic on the eyes.  The makeup is all about a dramatic eye, blackened corners and lids with shine and texture. I kept the rest of the face in neutral tones, blush very natural to Priyanka's skin tone and lips that are similar to her natural lip tone. Typically we work with Priyanka's natural lid shape, round, but this time we wanted an elongated eye for a more dramatic look." -Pati Dubroff

First, I gently filled in brows with JILL STUART Beauty AiryStay Brow Liner (03)Second, I started her eyes with JILL STUART Beauty Iconic Look Eyeshadow (C204) along the crease to create depth with a warm skin like tone

"This was an essential part to her eyes as this creamy, bronzy copper color, allowed the shade of the dark eye to harmonize with her skin tone. Black can sometimes make those with darker skin tones look a bit grey and this helped the lid have a nice base wash to build on."

I created the corner shape with a thick black smudgeable eye pencil. Then, I used JILL STUART Beauty Twinkle Glow Multi Stick on the lid to add shine and make the lid look wet.

"This product is truly so beautiful and cool."

I added more depth to lash line corners with JILL STUART Beauty Kittenish Look Liner and finished off the eyes with JILL STUART Beauty Lasting Curl Blossom Waterproof Mascara.

For the lips, I used a combo of the JILL STUART Beauty Dressed Rouge (04) as a base and then on top,  a wash of the JILL STUART BeautyLip Blossom (46).

Yalitza Aparicio Oscars Beauty Look

Team TME just got the backstage beauty breakdown for this year's belle of the ball! Right from Celebrity Makeup Artist Carissa Ferreri, the master behind the makeup for Best Actress nominee Yalitza Aparicio, star of Roma and we're sharing it with you! This is an exciting moment for Yalitza (and let’s face it, all of us) – She’s the first Indigenous woman nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award. Her glam – a peachy lip, soft light eye and glowy skin– definitely accentuates this power moment!

Inspiration: My inspiration for Yalitza’s look was spring. Her (Rodarte) dress is a beautiful mint color and I wanted to do something fresh and soft with apricot and peach colors. ~ Carissa Ferreri

Skin: I do a lot of skin prep before starting on the makeup as it’s essential to begin a beauty look with a clean and smooth canvas. For Yalitza, I started with a mini facial using Arbonne’s RE9 Advanced Smoothing Facial Cleanser and mixing it with the RE9 Advanced Prepwork Cleansing Polish to really exfoliate and leave the skin looking fresh and bright.

Next, I used the RE9 Advanced Regenerating Toner to refresh the skin and add radiance. I love that it comes in a spray bottle with a light mist so I sprayed it on my sponge and applied it to her skin. Then I used the RE9 Advanced Intensive Renewal Serum, followed by the RE9 Advanced Prepwork Hydrating Dew Cream to hold in moisture. The last step was to add the RE9 Advanced Prepwork Gel Eye Masks to soothe and cool the under eye.

Eyes and Brows:  After skincare, I always move on to eyebrows and eyes so the products have time to work and penetrate the skin (I left the gel eye masks on the eyes throughout this process). I love a really fluffy and sculpted eyebrow so I applied the Shape It Up Brow Pencil in Dark and added the Eyebrow Gel to gives the brows more life.

For eyes, I wanted to do a very springy fresh and peachy look. Almost like a monochromatic look, so everything flowed nicely together. I used It’s All In The Eyes Volume 1 Palette and applied the shades Carroway and Clove for the crease and diffused any harsh lines. For the lids, I used It’s All In The Eyes Volume 2 Palette and applied the shades Opal and Prism, which is a beautiful peach color with gold undertones. This combination gave the exact peachy color I was looking for. I added a light touch of the It’s A Fine Line Pencil Eye Liner in Carob to the bottom lash line, leaving the top lash line bare.

Face and Body: For the face, I started with the Makeup Primer and followed that with the Perfecting Liquid Foundation in Golden Bronze. To mattify, I added the Got You Covered MineralPowder Foundation SPF 15 Sunscreen in Bronze which I applied to the center of her face to remove any shine.

For concealer, I mixed The Real Conceal Liquid Concealer in the shades Tan and Dark to brighten the under eye.

For cheeks, I applied Blush in the shades Blossom and Apricot to give a nice warm glow.

I applied Bronzer to the perimeter of her face and forehead to add dimension. I also applied the Bronzer to her cheekbones and brought it down to her shoulder to because it added such a pretty glow.

Body, I used the Intelligence Nourishing Facial Oil on her neck, shoulders and arms which hydrated and mattified the skin with a nice subtle glow.

Then I used the shade Moonstone from the Starlight Glow Palette and I used the shades Stardust and Twilight on her body, collar bone shoulders

Lips: I finished the look with a peachy lip. I used the Smoothed Over Lipstick in the shades Lily and Zinnia which left a lovely peachy finish.

Carissa used 100% clean, high-performance vegan skincare and makeup from the botanically based, cruelty-free beauty brand Arbonne!

Dove Cameron Oscars After Party Beauty Look

From Celebrity Makeup Artist, Melissa Hernandez, we scored the beauty break down for the gorgeous Dove Cameron! Dove attended last night's Oscars Vanity Fair After-Party and her Red Carpet look was nothing less then elegant!

FACE: I started off Dove’s look using Nanacoco Professional Cosmetics' gorgeous Airfair Brushes, which are launching next month! Using the Airfair Liquid Foundation Brush I applied CharlotteTilbury's Light Wonder Foundation to Dove’s face for a flawless look.

Next I used the Nanacoco Professional’s super-hydrating HD Cover Concealer for color correcting, and the Nanacoco HD powder in cool beige to blur any minor imperfection as I used a lighter-coverage foundation.

Nanacoco’s contouring & strobing palette in Light Pale was my go-to for brining structure and glow into Dove’s face. The dark and light matte shades in the palette allowed me to draw a lot of contrast for a more-striking look. The Airfair Highlighter Brush was perfect for applying the strong lines needed to achieve this look.

I finished off Dove’ face with HD Pressed Blush in Natural Pink + Weleda Skin Food on the high points of the face for a luscious glow.

EYES: For a glossy effect, I wanted to try something fun – I applied a wash of Nanacoco’s Shimmertallics Metallic Lip Gloss in Frosted Glaze onto Dove’s lids. It’s a really pretty almost snow color, perfect to make Dove’s blue eyes pop. It was simple but impactful. To complete the eyes I then applied a coat of Outlash Dramatic Length Mascara.

BROWS: Browstylers Micro Pencil in Taupe + Browstylers Brow Mascara in Blonde for a feathered effect. The combo of the two brow products allowed for a shapely and full yet natural.

LIPS: Last but not least, I applied a touch of Nanacoco’s Lipfinity Matte Lip Creme in the shade Bubblegum Pop using my finger to Layer the brand’s GlitznGloss in Mocha Madness overtop for an eye-catching pout.

All Nanacoco Professional Cosmetics are vegan and cruelty-free beauty. You can find products online!

Ashley Graham ABC's Oscars Red Carpet Beauty Tip Sheet

WHO: Ashley Graham, Co-Host of Oscars Live On The Red Carpet on ABC

MAKEUP BY: Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Synnott for Revlon

INSPIRATION: The elegance of Sophia Loren with structured feline eyes and movie star lips

SKIN: Kate Synnott says Ashley has the dream skin that all women want so she kept the foundation natural and glowy with Revlon PhotoReady Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation in Medium Beige, 270. For extra coverage under the eye and around the nose, she blended Revlon PhotoReady Candid Anti-Oxidant Concealer in Biscuit, 027. Synnott considers setting foundation with powder one of the most important steps in any red carpet makeup so she used Revlon PhotoReady Candid Anti-Pollution Setting Power for its lightweight feel on the skin and to make Ashley’s makeup last all day and night.

CHEEKS: Synnott loves the Revlon Instant Cheek Maker duos and used the lighter highlight shade in Make Me Bronze on the cheek bones, inner eye, brow bone and bridge of nose to accent her beautiful bone structure. On Ashley’s cheeks, she kept it soft and dreamy with Revlon Powder Blush in the shade Naughty Nude.

EYES: Revlon ColorStay Cream Eye Shadow in Cognac and Revlon ColorStay Looks Book Eye Shadow Palette in Enigma were blended on eyes to create impact. Synnott then defined the feline shape with Revlon ColorStay Liner in Black. To finish the look, she used Revlon Volumazing Mascara , one of Synnott’s must-haves for building and layering to create a false lash effect that won’t clump.

BROWS: Synnott always uses two different brow pencils for a beautiful arch. On Ashley, she used Revlon ColorStay Brow Creator in Soft Brown, a lighter shade to define and enhance, and then went in using feather like strokes with Revlon ColorStay Brow Creator in Medium Brown.

LIP: Synnott layered Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Audacious Mauve and Nude Attitude. to create the full, glamorous movie star lips.

Issa Rae Beauty Breakdown 2019 Critics Choice Awards

The beautiful Issa Rae walked the Red Carpet at the 2019 Critic’s Choice Awards in stunning fashion and face. Wearing a Aliétte by Jason Rembert dress, Tamara Mellon shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, Issa was rocked the Red Carpet. Her makeup was done by Makeup Artist Joanna Simkin who  shared the scoop on how she created Issa’s gorgeous Red Carpet look.

Eyes: “I was inspired by Issa’s beautiful black dressed designed by her stylist and felt pressure to make sure her makeup looked extra gorgeous tonight. Her dressed was designed with various textures and I wanted to incorporate some contrasting textures into her look. I started by smoking some matte black shadow to her inner and outer eye corners. To intensify the black shade, I used the Defining Moment Eyeliner to further smoke out the color. I loved that COVERGIRL provided vibrant colors in a drugstore palette, I knew I wanted to bring some of those colors to her look. I then packed on the shimmery green shadow in the Zodiac Eyeshadow Palette to the center of her lid to draw attention to her eyes.”

Lips: “To balance out her bright eye shadow I decided on a lip closer to the nude range. I swiped the Idol Satin Lipstick in Undone all over her lips and blended the Idol Liquid Lipstick in Royalty to the center of her lips to bring in a subtle pop of pink to her nude lip. The satin and matte finishes of her lips help balance out her matte and shimmery eye in a way that gives her a more hydrated look opposed to being too matte or too shiny.”

Face: “It’s great that COVERGIRL was able to create an amazing shade range of foundations. The undertones suited Issa’s skin tone perfectly. I tied in the whole look by popping the purple-pinky shade in the Rose Rush Cheek Palette to give her complexion a livelier look to complement the black colors in her dress and eyes.”

Red Carpet Report Rachel Brosnahan 2019 Critics Choice Awards

FASHION BY: Carolina Herrera

MAKEUP BY: Lisa Aharon for Revlon

  1. After prepping Rachel's skin, I buffed and blended Revlon PhotoReady Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation in Porcelain from the center of the face outward. Revlon PhotoReady Candid Antioxidant Concealer in Banana worked seamlessly under the eyes and in the spots that needed a little more coverage. Both are lightweight with a natural finish that I love.
  2. To finish the complexion, I lightly dusted Revlon PhotoReady Candid Setting Powder keeping it mostly in the center of the face and forehead.
  3. A cool rose tone is my favorite for Rachel's porcelain skin, so I used Revlon Powder Blush in the shade Rosy Rendezvous. I started on the apples of the cheeks and blended slightly under the cheek bone towards the hairline. I then patted Revlon PhotoReady Insta- Fix Highlighting Stick in Pink Light to make the highpoint of the cheekbones radiate slightly.

  1. ColorStay Brow Creator in Soft Brown helped me define, shape and slightly fill in Rachel’s brows. Filling in and sharpening the brows helps to frame the eye and guide where the shadow is placed next. Since the suit was clean and white, we decided to have fun with color on the eyes. I used Revlon ColorStay Crème Eyeshadow in Merlot as the base layer for a bold effect. We kept the shape a bit 60’s to complement the high ponytail.
  2. To add dimension and brightness, I added the light purple shade of the Revlon Colorstay Looks Book Palette in Insider. I used a blend of the light purple and pink shade from the same palette for the inner corner of the eye as well. Revlon ColorStay Crème Gel Eyeliner in Black helped to intensify the lash line.
  3. A few coats of Revlon Volumazing Mascara added both length and thickness to Rachel’s already beautiful lashes. It’s long lasting so I can rely on it not to flake or smudge on a red carpet.

  1. It’s been very dry in LA so I’ve been reaching for extra moisture where ever I can. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick has a rich amount of pigment but also delivers the hydration I needed for Rachel’s lips. After trying a few lighter shades, we landed on Bare Affair to complete her mod make up look.

Gina Rodriguez 2019 Golden Globes Get The Look

Gina Rodriguez is always so beautiful, and last night was no exception. Gina stunned on the Red Carpet in a Reem Acra dress and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. Last night, Gina worked with her amazingly talented makeup artist, Carissa Ferreri to get her gorgeous Red Carpet look. And, we have the complete breakdown!

“We were going for a 'mermaid goddess’ type of theme in honor of [Gina's] beautiful Reem Acra dress -- effortless and pretty. We didn’t make one standout feature, but rather tried to tie everything together in a glowy, ethereal look. I always focus on her skin, since Gina has such stunning skin. I loved using COVERGIRL’s new Full Spectrum Matte Ambition All Day Shine Free foundation, coupled with the Full Spectrum highlighting palette on her cheeks to create a glowing look. I even used the same highlighter color on the crease of her eyelids to tie everything together and to make her look like she was glowing from within.”

For Gina’s eyes, I really wanted to keep it elegant and simple while still picking up on the beautiful colors of her dress. I used the COVERGIRL Full Spectrum So Saturated Palette in Zodiac, using the champagne and golden yellow colors as a base. Then I used the Full Spectrum “On Ice” quad palette, using a silver and a sea foam shade to bring out the blue in her dress, and finished with the “Reverence” palette, using the golden brown shade in the corners of her eyes to add depth. For eyeliner I used the COVERGIRL Full Spectrum Defining Moment in Deep Blue to subtly bring out the blue in her dress, and I finished with LOTS of mascara for a bold lash – I love the brush on COVERGIRL’s new Exhibitionist Mascara!” - Carissa Ferreri

Emmy's Red Carpet Report Get The Look

From Stranger Things Natalia Dyer x Riverdale's Madelaine Petsch to Evan Rachel Wood and Jessica Biel – we have the beauty breakdown for these Hollywood beauties!

Who: Evan Rachel Wood

Hair By: John D

Inspiration: “Evan Rachel Wood’s dark suit, perfect skin and bold lip inspired this soft twisted chignon decorated with fresh flowers. I wanted her to walk down the red carpet looking like a gorgeous renaissance painting.”

Tips & Techniqiues:
  • I prepped clean, damp hair using styling mousse applied to the roots and combed through. I then used the ghd ceramic vented radial brush size 3 ($40) build softness and volume.
  • Next, I sectioned the hair behind ear on both sides, leaving front section. I used the ghd curve classic curl iron ($199) to create an “s” shaped finger wave pattern, clipping it into place to allow cool. For the remaining hair in back, I used the NEW ghd platinum+ styler ($249) to create soft flat iron waves. I created the waves to build shape so that when creating updo hair all falls into itself, making it easier to create the final shape.
  • I then pinned the hair at back of head to create a foundation for the twisted chignon and continued the style by twisting hair pinning it into place.
  • Finally, I removed the clips at front to frame her face and pulled back hair to blend into the updo.
  • Top finish, I removed the clips at front and added some seasonal fresh flowers to create a Renaissance feel. A final spritz of hairspray all over locked in her soft touchable style.

Who: Jessica Biel

Hair By: Adir Abergel

Inspiration: “I was inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite era, in which young women considered their delicate long locks glory and conveyed the ultimate femininity through its soft romantic texture. The look centered around healthy, shiny long hair with a sharp center part. Loose wave and highlights surrounding her cheekbones added a delicate beauty to Jessica’s overall red carpet appearance.”

Tips & Techniques:
  • I prepped wet hair with styling cream and several golf-balls size pumps of styling mousse applied from root to tip to enhance Jessica’s natural, wavy texture.
  • I then used the ghd Air Hairdryer to blow dry Jessica’s hair with the ghd ceramic vented radial brush size 3 ($40) for a beautifully smooth finish. To create the soft wave pattern, I used NEW ghd Platinum+ Styler ($249) and oscillated the tool back and forth. It is important to alternate directions when styling with the flatiron to create bends in small sections of the hair.
  • I added a bit of dry shampoo at the ends to create more volume through the bottom of the look for an airy and weightless touch. To finish, I tucked Jessica’s hair behind her ear, and locked the style with hairspray for shape and added shine.

Who: Madelaine Petsch

Hair By: Marc Mena

Inspiration: “Madelaine is wearing a custom Prada gown so we wanted to go with hair that was young, effortless and the opposite of traditional. One of her best features is her natural red hair and we wanted to really show that off tonight.”

Tips & Techniques:

  • To start, I prepped Madelaine’s wet hair with a volumizing spray starting at the scalp and massaging to ends. I then created a side part and blow-dried her hair with the ghd Air Hairdryer ($199) and ghd ceramic-vented radial brush size 1 ($35).
  • Once the hair was dry, I used the NEW ghd Platinum+ Styler ($249) to curl the hair, giving it a natural, relaxed look. I love this styler because it’s curved edges allow me to glide the hair through, while also twisting, to create a gorgeous curl that also did not look too uniformed. To complete the look, I sprayed the hair with a hairspray and ran my fingers through it to loosen up the curls and give it more body.

Who: Natalia Dyer

Hair By: Gregory Russell

Inspiration: “Natalia is wearing a very classic, form fitting and beaded gown so we wanted to enhance that sophisticated look by creating a classic wave set that was incredibly polished.”

Tips & Techniques:

  • To start, I prepped Natalia’s wet hair with Marc Anthony True Professional Bye.ByeFrizz Blow Dry Cream ($8.99) from mid-strand to ends to ensure the hair was smooth, hydrated and held bounce. I then created a deep side part and blow-dried her hair with the ghd Air Hairdryer ($199) and ghd natural bristle radial brush size 3 ($45).
  • Once the hair was dry, I took small sections around the face and used the NEW ghd Platinum+ Styler ($249) to create S-waves to frame her face. I wanted the hair around the face to be a bit flatter and more relaxed which is why I used a flatiron versus a curling iron for this section of hair. For the rest of her hair, I curled using the ghd curve classic curl iron ($199) away from the face. I sprayed each section with Marc Anthony True Professional Bye.ByeFrizz Hairspray ($8.99), brushed through with the ghd oval dressing brush ($40), and then wrapped around the ghd curve classic curl iron ($199). I counted to 15 seconds and then removed the section from the iron and pin curled to cool.
  • This allows the waves to last and hold their shape. When moving to the other side of the face, make sure to wrap the hair in the same direction as the other side for this style. After curling and setting the hair in pin curls, spray with additional with Marc Anthony True Professional Bye.ByeFrizz Hairspray ($8.99) lightly and allow about 15 minutes for the hair to cool.
  • After the hair was cooled, I removed the clip one section at a time starting in the back at the nape of the head. Next, I sprayed my ghd oval dressing brush ($40) with hairspray and brushed through each section while I removed the clips to give the waves that soft, classic feel. I used a small drop of Marc Anthony True Professional Bye.ByeFrizz 8-in-1 Serum ($8.99) through the ends and around the face to give the waves sheen and definition. Finish with additional hairspray.

Kylie Jenner at VMAs: Get The Look

Team TME has a Red Carpet Report from last evening’s VMAS, which took place at New York's Radio City Music Hall. Kylie Jenner looked really amazing with platinum locks and a gorg Tom Ford suit. Her hair was coiffed by Celebrity Hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons and he has dished all about the do!

Inspiration: “Kylie was wearing a high collar, sexy white suit so we wanted the hair to be more sophisticated and grown to not take away from the dress or be too much.”

Get The Look:

“Kylie just dyed her hair platinum blonde only days ago so I had to keep that in mind with everything I did tonight in terms of heat and pre-styling products.”

Step One: To start I used a heat protectant spray on her damp hair then blow dried using the ghd Air Hairdryer ($199) on medium heat with a ghd natural bristle radial brush size 3 ($30). I used the brush with natural bristles versus ceramic or metal so that hair would not get too hot and stay damage-free.

Step Two: I then sprayed hair with a bit of additional heat protectant spray and then began straightening hair with the NEW ghd Platinum+ Styler ($249). Freshly-‐dyed blonde hair can be more fragile so it was very important to me to use the best styler possible to keep the integrity of her hair and keep damage at bay. With the new ghd Platinum+ Styler, one pass gave us extremely sleek, frizz-‐free hair that we needed before putting it up.

Step Three: Next, I used a hairspray and a ghd oval dressing brush ($40) to brush hair in the direction it was going once up. I pulled hair to the back in middle of her head and created a pony. I then pulled out two pieces in the front to create a bit of softness so the pony was not too severe and harsh. I gave the pieces one last sweep with the ghd Platinum+ ($249). To create the imperfect, perfect bun, I twisted her pony very softly and secured it with pins. I added a shine serum on top for the final touch.

Products: ghd Platinum+ Styler ($249 – Launching September 3rd), ghd Air Hairdryer ($199), ghd natural bristle radial brush size 3 ($30), ghd oval dressing brush ($40)

All ghd products, except where noted, are available online at ghd hair and select retail locations.

It really gave the perfect smooth canvas to let her eyes and lips stand out and glow. She looked very heavenly and ethereal – perfect for tonight’s theme! “I used the darker shades of the new COVERGIRL Peach Punch palette on the hollow of her eyes and went straight across towards the end of her brow, and the effect was that her eyes looked very wide and open. For her eyes, I used a matte brown all over from the COVERGIRL Chocoholic palette, then added shimmery all over, and finished by glossing the top to create dimension.
