Catch The Last Waves Of Summer

Believe it or not, we only have less then one month of Summer 2019 before we move into the Fall. Don’t fret because there’s still plenty of Summer weather to be had and plenty of time to continue wearing beautiful beachy waves. TME was very fortunate to catch up with a few TRESemmé professional stylists that revealed their favorite waves to create and offered up fresh perspectives on achieving these coveted styles. Team TME has their tips and tricks below using the TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Collection.

“Flat Iron Waves” with TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist John D - TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist John D loves “Flat Iron Waves” because the defined, natural-looking curls are perfect for transitioning from Summer to Fall. “When creating this look with a flat iron, I like to start from the back of the head and work my way to the front. It is the best way to obtain effortless waves every time.”

Flat Iron Waves Get The Look:

Step 1: Dispense a few pumps of the TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam into palms and run product throughout lengths of damp hair for a weightless lift.

Step 2: Blow-dry hair using a round brush to add extra volume and smoothness, or towel-dry to accentuate the hair's natural texture.

Step 3: Once dry, grab 1-inch pieces and alternate bending the flat iron toward the face, then away, while moving down the length of each section.

Step 4: Once hair has cooled, run hands through the lengths to break up the waves.
Tilt head to the side, creating airy volume in the hair, and spray ends with TRESemmé

Step 5: Perfectly (un)Done Ultra Brushable Hairspray.

PRO TIP: Scrunch the hairspray into ends for added definition.

“Classic Beachy Waves” with TRESemmé Stylist Jeanie Syfu -Tousled waves look great any time of year and TRESemmé Stylist Jeanie Syfu’s step-by-step requires minimal heat styling, ideal for summer! “I love this look because it creates an irregular wave pattern unique to each person’s natural texture.”

Classic Beachy Waves Get The Look:

Step 1: Apply 1-2 pumps of TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam to damp hair before bed and towel dry. Using fingers, brush through hair to bring out the natural texture.

Step 2: Split hair down the middle and create two Dutch Braids (reverse French braids) on both sides of the head.

Step 3: Mist braids with TRESemmé Perfectly un(Done) Sea Salt Spray and leave in overnight.

Step 4: Release braids in the morning and comb through with fingers.

Step 5: Complete this look by spraying TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Ultra Brushable Hairspray all over for long-lasting, soft waves.

PRO TIP: Section off hair and pull the top half into a ponytail to create a trendy half-up look.

“Chic S-Waves” with TRESemmé Stylist Tyler Laswell - The “S-Wave” adds a touch of glamour to any look, but is still casual enough to wear for all occasions. TRESemmé Stylist Tyler Laswell explains, “It is a classic wave that is easy to create on all hair types!”

Chic S-Waves Get The Look:

Step 1: Split wet hair into three or four manageable sections and apply TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray on each.

Step 2: Towel-dry hair until it is 80% dry, then blow-dry using a paddle brush to create a smooth and polished look.

Step 3: Using a 1-inch curling iron, begin curling small sections of hair all in the same direction. Clip up each section once complete and mist with TRESemmé Perfectly (un)done Ultra Brushable Hairspray to set the waves.

Step 4: Remove all clips and brush hair thoroughly to smooth out the curls and create the uniform “S” pattern.

Step 5: Finish by applying the TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Perfecting Gelee through lengths to define the wave.

PRO TIP: For those with thick hair, brush out the curls one at a time to avoid creating a fluffy look.

Try out one of these styles this weekend! xo ~Team TME

Chrissy Teigen's Edgy New Haircut with TRESemmé Stylist Jeanie Syfu

TRESemmé Celebrity Brand Ambassador Chrissy Teigen recently debuted an edgy, new “don’t cut the front” haircut that puts a fresh spin on the lob. Keeping hair longer and thicker in the front gives the appearance of fuller hair without over- layering. TRESemmé Stylist Jeanie Syfu weighs in on the trend and offers tips for styling the look at home.

Follow Jeanie’s Tips to Re-Create Chrissy’s Modern Textured Look:

1.     Begin by washing hair using the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Pre-Wash Conditioner and  Shampoo to set the foundation for a voluminous look.

2.     Apply TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Touchable Bounce Mousse to towel-dried hair and blow dry upside down, using fingers to shake and pull at the roots.

3.     When dry, wrap hair once or twice around a large barrel curling iron, leaving ends out to create natural movement. Let sections cool then, gently brush through to soften the waves.

Backstage at Libertine With CATWALK by TIGI

CATWALK by TIGI, led by Thomas Osborn, created an “untroubled chic” look backstage at Libertine this Monday, February 15th. Libertine’s Fall/Winter 2016 collection is inspired by designer Johnson Hartig’s love of art and travel. After spending weeks in Tibet with the Nepalese monks, he was inspired by artist Niki de Saint Phalle’s tarot garden, mysticism and trekking Mount Everest. The resulting pieces are nods to everything from Tuscany to the upcoming Presidential elections.

“Working with Johnson always brings out the fun, edgy, creative side of the TIGI team. We decided to go with an untroubled look that includes a messy braid on one side and undone, natural texture on the other side. To tie the look back to the whimsical collection, we added the barrettes to the back of the head for an unexpected, additional pop of color.” – Thomas Osborn

GET THE LOOK:
  1. Prep dry hair with CATWALK by TIGI Bodifying Spray and blow dry with fingers for a natural texture
  2. Next, split hair into two sections at the back and braid the left section of hair beginning behind the ear and low at the hairline. Switch between 3-, 2- and 4-strand techniques. Secure with an elastic and pull at the braid to achieve a messy texture
  3. Roughly tousle hair at the root with fingers and finish with CATWALK by TIGI Work It Hairspray
  4. Clip barrettes at random in the back of the head

2016 People’s Choice Awards Claire Danes and Lea Michele Get The Look

The 2016 Awards Season kicked off last night, Jan. 6 with the People’s Choice Awards and TME has the how-tos for two stunning stars. Straight from Celebrity Makeup Artist, Matin, we have PCA Winner Claire Danes’ look, as well as Lea Michele’s look created by Celebrity Stylist John D.

Claire Danes 2016 People’s Choice Awards Get The Look:

Skin Prep - To prep, I used Elizabeth Arden SUPERSTART Skin Renewal Booster and Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum on face and neck to keep skin dewy.

Complexion - To create a smooth canvas, I applied Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer followed by Flawless Finish Sponge–On Cream Makeup in Vanilla to the her entire face, working outwards. Next, I dabbed a bit of Ceramide Cream Blush in Pink to the apples of your cheeks for a slight flush.

Eyes - For a subtle eye, I brushed Beautiful Color Eyeshadow Duo in Café Au Lait across the lid to the inner eye. I used Beautiful Color Eye Shadow in Truffle along the lash line, instead of traditional eyeliner, to add warmth and definition. Next, I applied Beautiful Color Precision Glide Eyeliner in Black Velvet as dots between individual top lashes for a fuller lash look, and finish with Grand Entrance Mascara.

Lips - To complete Claire’s look, I prepped her lips with Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Lip Repair Balm and applied Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick in Power Red, for a bold and beautiful pop of color.

Lea Michele 2016 People’s Choice Awards Get The Look:

This Hollywood sweetheart stunned on the red carpet last night before presenting at People’s Choice Awards. Celebrity Stylist John D. opted for a fun, textured knot to avoid upstaging her intricately beaded black Elie Saab cocktail dress.

“We wanted to stay away from overdoing this look, while keeping in mind the major storm that is currently covering Los Angeles, so we kept the overall vibe fresh and cool.” – John D.

Step 1: Prep clean, towel-dried hair by running a dollop TRESemmé Climate Control Mousse from roots to ends to add light hold and keep the elements out.

Step 2. Blow dry hair using a large round brush to help smooth lengths and give lift at the root.

Step 3. Gather hair at the back of the head and secure ponytail with an elastic, making sure that roots aren’t pulled back too tight. Then, split the ponytail into two sections and tie sections into loose knots. Wrap knots around ponytail to create an intricate bun and fasten all around with bobby pins.

Step 4. Finish the look by spraying TRESemmé Climate Control Hair Spray all over for a frizz-free, strong hold.

Hervé Léger's A/W 2015 French Twist Ponytail

Show:  Hervé Léger Autumn/Winter 2015

“This season the Hervé Léger collection was inspired by our travels to Barcelona and the amazing architecture of Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia. We wanted the hair to mimic the strong lines and prints in the collection so that the world knows our girl means business!” ~Lubov Azariz, Hervé Léger

“For Hervé Léger’s show, we wanted there to be a toughness to the hair but in a way that still felt quite natural and easy for our girl to wear away from the runway. We’ve played with a simple update on the classic low pony that leaves her with a sexy twist down to the nape of her neck. This is the look for when you need your exit from the party to make a bold statement!” ~Orlando Pita, Hairstylist for TRESemmé

We’ve worked with Orlando for many seasons and we always aim to keep our models’ personality shining through in their look so that we don’t lose her sense of fun out on the runway.” ~Diane von Furstenberg

Show: REBECCA MINKOFF FALL 2015

Lead Stylist: Orlando Pita for TRESemmé

Rebecca Minkoff's Fall 2015 collection was inspired by Patti Smith's evocative memoir "Just Kids" which showcases a vivid portrait of bohemian New York in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Influenced by Smith’s own androgynous, rock-inspired style, other icons such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Grace Slick also come to life. The collection includes guitar strap-inspired embroideries, structured leather jackets and pants, mixed prints, military denim, rich velvet, engineered studding and flowy, chiffon dresses to recall that rhapsody in a modern way, informed by the current Indie rock style renaissance.

Orlando Pita brought this bohemian rock ‘n’ roll inspiration to life with an undone tousled style using TRESemmé’s NEW 2015 Collections.

We loved the way Orlando has turned her hair into a natural extension of her outfit and it blends seamlessly into her winter knit!” - Lubov Azaria, BCBGMAXAZARIA, TRESemmé Designer Partner FW/15

“For BCBG’s show, we wanted the hair to feel very undone and to play with the natural texture of our models’ hair. I’m feeling really inspired by the shift this season towards more wearable, subtle styles that feel very lived in and organic.” - Orlando Pita, hair stylist for TRESemmé
