7 Hidden Secrets To Save On Beauty At ULTA


ULTA is the one of the biggest beauty retailers in the United States and one of the most popular destinations for cosmetics, men’s grooming products, fragrances, and even salon services. ULTA sells more than 20,000 products from over 500 beauty brands … including its own private label. ULTA is a true Mecca from any beautynista or suavie. Of course being beautynistas means that even a quick dash to ULTA for one product can lead to well … uh … a serious haul! However, there are serious hidden opportunities to save if you know where to look. So without further ado, let’s jump in to ways to save!

1.) Use ULTA Coupons:  If you want to save money at ULTA, start using their store coupons. ULTA typically offers two types of coupons -- $3.50 off $10 and the more exclusive 20% off, which can be found in the coupon section of the newspaper.

2.) Look for Manufacturer Coupons: Did you know that ULTA accepts manufacturer coupons? Even better, ULTA allows its customers to stack manufacturer and ULTA. The only caveat is that there are certain brand’s that are excluded from stacking so be sure to check ULTA’s list of brands that are excluded or restricted from promotions.

3.) Join the ULTA Rewards Program: ULTA has one of the best rewards programs and you should definitely become a part of it. Once you sign up you’ll start earning points on purchases and receive amazing deals and exclusive discounts on different products. We also recommend downloading the ULTA Beauty app to make sure you are always up-to-date on the best deals.

4.) Gift With Purchase Promos: Hands down, one of the best parts of shopping at ULTA is its “GWP” promotion that offers freebie. If you purchase an item that is part of a promotion, you get special gifts like scarves, tote bags, and makeup from both high-end and drugstore brands.

5.) Visit ULTA’s BOGO and Bargains Page: ULTA's website has an entire section specifically listing all current bargains and sales. This section is well maintained and updated often. So before you head out to ULTA or buy online, visit the ULTA Promo Page first!

6.) ULTA 21 Days of Beauty Deals: ULTA's 21 Days of Beauty sale happens twice a year, usually during fall and spring. For 21 straight days, a different item per day is significantly marked down … we’re talking 50% off!

7.) ULTA's Return Policy: Ever bought a stunning red lipstick only to realize that it absolutely wasn’t for you? ULTA has one of the best return policies, allowing customers to return any product for any reason within 60 days of the purchase. Please remember to keep your receipts though!

MAC Cosmetics and Ulta Announce Beautiful Partnership


M∙A∙C and Ulta Beauty announce an exciting new retail partnership in the United States. Beginning in May 2017, shoppers can purchase M∙A∙C online at Ulta, and in select Ulta Beauty stores in June 2017. During the 2017 calendar year, M∙A∙C will open in more than 100 Ulta Beauty locations.

This comes as very, very excited news to M∙A∙C enthusiasts, as customers will be able to shop for a lineup of M∙A∙C’s most popular and iconic products, specially curated for Ulta Beauty, as well as makeup services to complement Ulta Beauty’s existing hair, skin and brow services.

While Team TME doesn’t know which products will be sold at Ulta, as M∙A∙C's usual product lineup of around 1,200 SKUs will have to be edited down to around half, we do know that the brand’s selection will be “deep into foundation, primer and lipstick.” Whether the scenario of never being exposed to the brand until now resonates with you or if you’re already a M∙A∙C enthusiast, this is some of the most exciting news that we’ve heard!

Sexy Hair ‘Get The Look’ and Product Review

Marilyn Monroe is timeless beauty. 50 years after the height of Marilyn’s fame, her iconic beauty is still sought after buy the masses. Celebrity Stylist David Babaii, stylist to Christina Aguilera, considers Christina to be a modern-day Marilyn with curves reminiscent of the beauty icon. David recreated his interpretation of Marilyn’s look and shared the how-to with The Makeup Examiner.

Get The Look:

To achieve Christina’s style, David applied a generous amount of Big Sexy Hair Big Boost through her hair and gently massaging it into the strands lifting the root area and scrunching the ends. This creates the foundation for perfect Bohemian waves that are not only sexy but add that flare of fun to the style. Next, he gently diffused the hair curling and twisting strands until dry. To create the prefect finish, David used a curling iron to wrap large sections for smoother and more defined waves. The finishing touch was a mist of hair spray.

  1. Apply Big Sexy Hair Big Boost, an amplifying, texturizing, and defining cream, which David states, “Creates a touchable, flexible styles with voluminous results” and The Makeup Examiner agrees!
  2. Blow dry with a medium round brush to form lift at the base.
  3. Use a one-inch curling iron, wrapping sections around the inside of the barrel while leaving the ends free.
  4. Once you release each curl, secure with a clip and allow curls to cool.
  5. Remove clips and finger-comb hair.
  6. Gently brush to smooth the top layer of hair.
  7. To create volume, apply Big Sexy Hair Powder Play to roots and massage in.
  8. As the final touch, spray Big Sexy Hair Get Layered Flash Dry Thickening Hairspray.

Ulta Beauty and beauty brands support Breast Cancer Awareness Month


Ulta Beauty announced today Oct. 1, that throughout the month of October, Ulta will participate in fundraising events to support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Events include the third year of the nationwide fundraising event, “The Salon at UltaCut-A-Thon”.

Armed with knowledge, beautynistas need to move and participate in the fight to end breast cancer. According to statistics from the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women. About 1 in 8 (12%) women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime. The chance that breast cancer will be responsible for a woman's death is about 1 in 36 (about 3%). BCRF provides funding for innovative clinical research and currently 91 cents of every dollar spent by BCRF goes directly toward breast cancer research and awareness programs.

Although Ulta’s “Cut-A-Thon,” which will be held on Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Ulta salons across the US, is the largest fundraising event, Ulta offers customers a plethora of options to support BCRF fundraising initiatives with their “Donate With A Kiss” campaign. And Ulta Beauty isn’t the only company supporting BCRF this month. The “Donate with a Kiss” campaign is expected to showcase more than 1 million kisses across all 576 Ulta Beauty stores nationally. To participate, customers can donate $1 to receive a kiss sticker that they can take home or display in the store, and can also register to win a beauty bag of “pink” products valued at $598. The “Donate with a Kiss” campaign is also offering limited-edition accessories just in time to kickoff holiday shopping.

Ulta Beauty's Cut-A-Thon For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

"Invisible Layers" Haircut
The stylist at the salons at ULTA Beauty have a secret to adding volume to long hair without cutting lots of visible layers.  With special cutting techniques, layers are added to the haircut to provide hidden movement.  Hair is left long enough to style in an updo but it has added volume when worn long. This cut works best for shoulder length hair and longer.

"Convertible Color" Haircut
Have highlighting that you want to show off? Ulta announces Spring and Summer Beauty Trends



Ulta Beauty announced today, March 4, the best beauty trends for the Spring and Summer, but Ulta doesn’t simply drop what’s hot for S/S 2013 and leave it at that. In conjunction with the upcoming seasons beauty trends, Ulta announced the kick-off of “21 Days of Beauty.”

So what are Ulta Beauty’s picks for S/S 2013? In seems that Ulta is going for the bold! From Bold Brows to Cherry Lips … there doesn’t seem to be much of an understated look for the warmer weather. Let’s check out the looks in detail!

Bold Brow: Also known as “the boyfriend brow,” which we saw stomping down the runway via Cara Delevingne. Strong brows frame spring's natural face.

For eyes, Ulta recommends the Aquatic Eye (greens and blues), the Sunrise Eye (topaz, orange and pink), and a super dramatic “Bronze. Lash. Repeat,” which entails dusting eyelids with rust colored metallics for a healthy way to get a sun-kissed look. Thick, dramatic lashes complete the look and make the eyes pop.

Cherry Lips: Sweeten up a nude look with a bright cherry lip. This lip color is perfect for women who want to make a statement without the time commitment, and the bluish hue is flattering on all complexions.

For Skin: Well, everyone agrees on this look and it isn’t going to be a trend … Luminous Skin! And while Ulta Beauty recommends highlighters and bronzers to illuminate skin, which are fabulous hen needed, The Makeup Examiner recommends starting a healthy skincare regime to achieve a truly natural glow!
