INSPIRATION: “When I saw her Asian-inspired two piece I was truly inspired to go with a simple, sleek hairstyle to have the outfit come together. Maddie’s two-piece had an elaborate design that called for a very simplistic sleek, smoothed out hairstyle.” -~ghd brand ambassador Justine Marjan

  1. To start, I prepped Maddie’s damp hair with leave in conditioner and ghd heat protectent spray.
  2. Then blew out her strands with the ghd air hairdryer and used the ghd ceramic vented radial brush size 3 to straighten her natural hair.
  3. Then, I used the ghd tail comb to create a clean middle part.
  4. I then worked my way throughout her hair using the ghd platinum styler and ghd narrow dressing brush to straighten ½ inch horizontal sections.
  5. To complete the look, I sprayed the ghd narrow dressing brush with hairspray and brushed through her stands, focusing around the part and hairline, for a super sleek frizz free finish.

Zendaya Shares Her COVERGIRL Beauty Look at the Grammy’s

Hope you’re ready for music’s biggest night – the Grammy’s! COVERGIRL Zendaya did her own makeup for the big night, and TME is sharing with you her beauty breakdown so that you can #GetThatGlam at home. We’ve included the specific products, shades and techniques she used to complete her look, straight from Zendaya herself! From doing her own makeup to launching her new song “Something New” – it’s safe to say that Zendaya is a COVERGIRL of many talents.

“As a new COVERGIRL, I did my own makeup tonight!” - Zendaya

Zendaya GRAMMY’S Red Carpet Beauty Look:

The GRAMMYS is a fun award show and a bit edgier than my last red carpet event, so my amazing stylist, Law Roach and I decided to try a whole new approach. Together we picked out this awesome menswear inspired suit and decided I would keep my makeup a bit more natural to balance out my look.

For the eyes, I wanted to keep the look soft, but with major lashes! I am a huge eyeshadow fan and currently loving truNAKED Eyeshadow Palettes because they are really pigmented and are so versatile. Today I used the Nudes palette and I love that no matter the look you are trying to achieve, these palettes offer a variety of colors and textures for a flawless look. I even used the lighter shade within the palette as a highlighter on my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose and on the cupids bow. I’ve always been a fan of drugstore makeup and I swear these palettes work just as good as the expensive ones.  To define my eyes, I lined my upper lid with Intensify Me! Liquid Liner in Intense Black and finished with Plumpify Mascara. This mascara gives loads of volume by lifting the lashes from the root, making them stand out more.  I always finish any look by grooming my brows – it’s key!

Once my eyes are done, I apply foundation to clean up any mistakes or eyeshadow that sprinkled on my face. I started by applying foundation at the center of my face and worked my way out. Today I used truBlend Liquid Makeup in Caramel Beige, then warmed up my skin with truBLEND bronzer and added a pop of color with truBLEND blush. The end look is flawless, yet my skin shines through and I don’t feel overly made up.

Now, no look of mine is ever complete without a touch of color on the lips – tonight I used Colorlicious Oh Sugar! In Caramel. I love that these lip balms help to keep the lips hydrated while still providing a light wash of color. For a final touch, I added a swipe of Jumbo Gloss Balm Creams in Caramel Cream, topped with a dab of Queen Collection Colorlicious Gloss in Premier Pink to complete the look.

The Newest Face of COVERGIRL Is …

Today, Jan. 21, COVERGIRL, the brand known for rocking your unique kind of beautiful, has announced Zendaya as the fresh new face. Known for redefining standards of what it means to be authentic and “do you” in a too-perfectly curated social media world, Zendaya stands for individuality and the unique definitions of beauty that go along with it. Zendaya broke the news first on her Instagram page and featured behind the scenes footage from her first ever COVERGIRL shoot, and another image was then shared on COVERGIRL’s Instagram page.

“I am so honored to join the company of a roster as celebrated and diverse as COVERGIRLs” says Zendaya.  “I can’t wait to share some of my own beauty tips with fans, and work alongside COVERGIRL to continue empowering girls and women to celebrate their individuality.” – Zendaya

Evident in her versatile style, Zendaya isn’t afraid to color outside the lines, whether she’s working on her latest musical collaboration, trying a new beauty look on the red carpet, or speaking her mind through the inspiring words she shares with her fans. Her ability to distinctly stand out is a key reason that so many girls and women look up to her, not only as a beauty icon, but also as a role model. Zendaya is redefining goals for this generation and showing the world what it means to be a girl boss - smart, in control and unapologetically herself.

“Watching Zendaya’s work and authentic conversation with fans in social media was truly inspiring to us at COVERGIRL,” says Esi Eggleston Bracey, Executive Vice President, Global Color Cosmetics, P&G.  “She is not afraid to stand up for what she believes, and makes no apologies for who she is – we love her energy, confidence, and willingness to experiment and express herself with makeup. I know that together, we will do big things and help evolve the perception of beauty today.”

In true form, Zendaya came to COVERGIRL with a plan –she wants to empower girls and women alike to embrace their uniqueness, whether that means trying the latest out-there beauty trends, or being outspoken about the things that matter to you. The catch: it’s not about imitating her; it’s about owning your personal swag and defining what that means to you.

Zendaya’s first ad will launch live during the 58th Annual GRAMMY Awards airing on CBS on Monday, February 15, featuring a new line up of COVERGIRL products – Plumpify Mascara by blastPRO, truNAKED shadow palette and liners and Colorlicious Oh Sugar Lip Balm.  Then, coming summer 2016, Zendaya will be the face of COVERGIRL’s cornerstone collection – the iconic line of Clean products – plus a new mascara.
